Prophet/Council of 5

B I O G R A P H Y

Adonis had been born with the gift of prophecy. However he did not realize it until late in his life. Adonis’ humble life began deep within the Tangled Woods. As a hatchling he was loved and cared for by his parents, but soon grew tired of their constant chiding and doting of him. And thus, when he came of age, Adonis decided to leave his home and begin a journey for a new one. It was within a few months that Adonis stumbled into a clan on the border between the Tangled Woods and the Sunbeam Ruins. The location was so perfectly situated that in the middle of the town, one could see both the darkness and the light battling against each other in an endless turf war. While admiring the nearby buildings, Adonis was encountered by a strange Spiral dragon. It was here that Adonis’ memory began to fade. He couldn’t quite remember everything that happened.

The next thing that Adonis could remember was the feeling of sand up his claws. Sand in his mane, sand everywhere. He could also remember pain. Bright pain. In his eyes. Gingerly Adonis had felt his eyes, finding dangerously large amounts of dried blood near them. It was later that Adonis realised that he was blind. Fashioning a crude blindfold for himself, Adonis began to learn what it was like to be blind. To need others to lead him. In time, Adonis found himself taken in by a kind clan in the Sunbeam Ruins. There he met the matriarch of the clan. While he could not physically see the queen, Adonis could recognize the “aura” given off by the queen; he recognised it as that of a natural leader.

Adonis decided to dedicate himself entirely to the clan. Within a couple of years Adonis was elected to fill the seat of one of five in the prestigious “Council of 5”. The mind and court of the clan. While the rest of the council bickers and argues about the smallest of matters, Adonis is reserved. Rarely Adonis will speak at a council gathering, though when he does, the entire council and clan will listen keenly. Recognized for his wisdom, intellect and kindness. These qualities have led him to become a very close advisor to the queen, giving his careful input on the most precarious of decisions.

With such ranking and importance within the clan, heightened by his gift of prophecy, Adonis is often threatened by dangers, be from the beastclans or another dragon. While his blindness does present a greater risk to his life than others, it has served not only to wisen, but also heighten Adonis’ other senses. When another dragon hears nothing, Adonis can hear the rustle of leaves, or the crunch of a twig under the foot of a nearby dragon. Nevertheless, Adonis is protected and safe, though he questions the need for such protection.

Through all of this, Adonis has not forgotten his humble past. While his other duties and obligations have always come first, at the end of each day, Adonis remembers his parents and their love for him. Sometimes he aches for their touch, he itches to leave and visit them, but that is but a dream now. As the clan’s prophet, Adonis is needed here and now. Without him, the clan struggles to function. In a way, the clan has grown to need Adonis, fearful of the future without him to tell them of it.
