PERSONALITY:
Suaveness and social grace help to offset the unattractiveness of Abel's Rotclaw, or so he hopes. Abel is effectively toothless; his parasite stunted any physical potential he might have had, and his magical ability is utterly average. It's left him vulnerable, and as a result Abel tries to not give people cause to beat him up. to those ends, he's a very amicable dragon.

He tries to put in effort towards his appearance, mopping up mucus, cleaning his scales, and arranging his apparel. Enjoys having his mane played with. Good at haggling.

HISTORY:
Abel was infected with his Rotclaw at an early age, not an uncommon plight for a denizen of the Abiding Boneyard. His clan viewed it as just another test, which Abel would survive if he wanted to prove his life was worthy of existing. He bore the parasite, determined to pass. In return, it sapped his body of strength and vitality.

Never could Abel be one of the relentless fighters which the Plaguelands were so famed for breeding. Despite this, his disposition and humor made Abel popular enough. What he lacked in physical prowess he made up in social deftness. Still, it was unsustainable. So much of Plague society centered around strength, Abel would eventually fall. When this became apparent, he bowed out before he could be forced out.

Abel was amused to find what sorts of things were assumed about him due to his heritage. Many approached him with caution, and he was often asked about means of curing plagueborn infections. Abel soon became adept at manipulating the assumptions of others to his benefit. The mere lack of response to an implication of violence served to stave away cheats, and cures could demand a high price if they came with the authority of a born-expert.

Such was the life Abel led when he met Jack. By the time Abel reached the Expanse, he was a modestly successful merchant. He'd even styled himself a more professional persona: the Rose Merchant. He'd heard tell of a bustling market tucked away under the Stormcatcher's nose, and was on the hunt for it. By chance, Jackdaw was a member of that community, and happy to show Abel the way.

The journey to Stormbay was the first time in a while that Abel had a consistent companion. Jack was easygoing, and kinda cute besides. He didn't care so much about where Abel came from or who he used to be. They got along great, and Jack remained Abel's close friend ever since Abel set up in Stormbay.

CURRENT PLOTS:
Abel deals in non-organic goods, specializing in weapons. He often acts as the middleman for Aphrodite. She makes the weapons, he barters on her behalf. He also enjoys romancing and being romanced by his boyfriend.
