It was a fleeting thought in her mind, but out of the corner of her eye... Narae saw Ritual move. The young dragon held her breath, her head bowed low. With a rustle of feathers and the clattering sound of bones, the tall skydancer rose from her corner and chose to settle beside the young one - much to her discomfort.

"You hear them."

It wasn't a question, but a statement. Her eyes widened as she looked up to the elder one, who was expressionless. For a moment, she thought she saw a glistening tear - but it was gone before she could blink. "So young," Ritual breathed, almost to herself. She shook her head.

"What are they? Who are they?" Narae whispered, intrigued yet afraid.

Voices of the dead, my child.

The coalt shrank, quivering. She was not ready for this - not for the horrors the reapers experienced. They were given the name for a reason.

Go. May you be spared still.

The skydancer nodded to herself, as the young one turned tail and fled. Past the long winding passages of their lair, past the bemused guards, past the entrance of their lair. She arched her neck to listen, until the pitter-patter of footsteps were no more.

Perhaps, there was still hope for this one.
