Effortlessly, Vaedren rose higher and higher. Earth he had left behind long ago, now only a tiny ball far far behind. Around him was the darkness of space, endless and mysterious… quite dramatic to be exact. But still, Vaedren was not scared. No, his heart was filled with awe as the constellations around him reflected in his eyes, making them glister like stars themselves. He rose higher, letting his gaze wander over these patterns that glowed softly in the infinite universe that laid beyond their very small world…
A noise up close startled him, confused he blinked into the light of the lanterns illuminating the library. He straightened his posture, a piece of paper fell from his cheek where it had been stuck. Ah, he had fallen asleep on his notes again, hadn’t he? Next to the ink pot sat a cup of tea, too hot to be waiting for long. A smile flitted across Vaedren’s face. Maybe it was time for a break.

Whenever Vaedren enters a room, it seems to lighten up. There is something about the spiral, something about the way he talks and engages with others that spreads joy and easiness around him. He is a source of never-ending energy and positivity. No matter what happens, Vaedren always seems at ease in any situation, and he does everything in his power to extend his calmness onto others. His actions carry a certain grace that is hard to comprehend and impossible to mimic. Some dragons refer to him as eccentric, and who is he to tell them they are wrong? Vaedren’s passions are manifold. He can lose himself in his studies entirely, may it be on magic or astronomy. Often, one can find him in the clan’s library, where he reads through new books and scrolls without any breaks. It is his doing that the library’s magical section keeps growing, and there is no book that he himself hasn’t read. It’s not rare that he falls asleep on his notes as he is taking them, or forgets to eat. Luckily, there are other dragons that remind him to take care of himself once in a while. Funnily enough, Vaedren is the one giving others the same advice, for another one of his passions is caring for his companions. He always can muster a smile for someone who is down, and has encouraging words for those that struggle. He loves being close to others and spending time with them, never shunning physical contact… or rather actively searching it. Life would be cold without loving hugs - and for those that don’t want hugs, he will knit warm sweaters in his free time. |

Vaedren grew up in the Arcanist’s realm, close to Starwood Strand. Even as a hatchling, he’d look up to the Observatory, dreaming of seeing the stars through its lense. When his father, a curious soul himself, left his home clan to join the Arcanist’s ranks, Vaedren joined him, the same goal in mind. However, on the journey, doubts rose inside of him. While the wonders that he might find in the Observatory called out to him, there was something that was still holding him back. Serving a deity was the greatest honor a dragon could achieve… and somehow, Vaedren felt like he hadn’t earned it yet. Sornieth still held so many wonders he did not understand... No, there were things he had to do before he’d be ready to look out into the universe through the Observatory’s eye. Vaedren turned around, heading back to where he had left off. But instead of returning to his clan, Vaedren started a journey of his own; a journey that led him through large parts of Sornieth, uncovering amazing truths and learning of secrets that he had never deemed possible. But the Observatory kept calling him. He returned after a few years of travel, still trying to make up his mind about whether or not he’d be ready to join the Arcanist’s ranks. While he was thinking, he overheard the sounds of fighting not too far away. Vaedren rushed over, only to see a black-scaled dragon being chased and attacked by the Chroma Sentinels. Without hesitating for long, Vaedren stepped in, driving away the attackers with magic but not hurting them. It was Jormund he had saved. The seer was so shaken that Vaedren decided to bring him back to his clan and stay until the other would feel better. But the Rose Spar grew to him quickly and so he stayed for much, much longer.
