A reserved dragon, Umbra is as silent and mysterious as his element itself. He and Helock had a fateful run in after Umbra had been chased out of the Tangled Woods. No one knows why he decided to escape to the Wastelands, and asking him certainly hasn't given any answers. As a potent illusionist, he uses his magic to create illusions of time manipulation. He is often referred to as a chrono mage, but does not actually change time itself. His magic sees the most action in combat, although rumors have float around the clan that he has “practiced” his magic on unsuspecting fellow clanmates or visitors. Whether it is for actual practice, amusement, or a practical joke, no one has been able to successfully verify this with Umbra. He stays silent and stoic as he always has been. Umbra frequently follows Roslia and Helock on their endeavors, usually without them knowing, shadowing them a safe distance away in case any danger befalls them. |

STORY WIP: "THERE HE IS!" A tiny shadow Fae dragon darted through the Wispwillow Grove. His heart was nearly beating out of his chest as he flew as fast as his little wings could take him. "You can't escape us, thief!" One of his pursuer, a sizable Ridgeback, cried out. Another of his pursuers, a Nocturne grunted, "Darn that slippery Fae. How is he so fast?" The Fae didn't spare a moment to look back. He nimbly cut through the grove, dodging the thick fauna that he knew was slowing down his large pursuers. His destination was unknown, but he knew he was headed towards the Plague territory's dreaded wastelands. As horrid the stories were of the Scarred Wasteland, it couldn't possibly be worse than what his pursuers would do to him. He knew if he was caught, he would be killed... or worse yet, captured and tortured for their amusement. The panicked Fae took a moment to lament as he started to weaken from the chase. How did a simple magic act go so wrong? He was merely a humble mage working for the circus. He wanted to delight people... not turn them into vindictive killers! Finally, he broke through the borders of the the Tangled Woods, and a vast clearing opened up for him. Some wildlife was still struggling to thrive at the border, but most had already mutated or died. His senses were immediately attacked by the putrid smells of decay, and the air started to become very dense. He flew further into the Wastelands before stopping, and turned around to look at the borderline of the woods. A few seconds past, and his clumsy pursuers finally appeared. They immediately stopped at the border when they noticed where the Fae led them to. The Ridgeback grimaced at the sight of the decayed ground and then sneered at the Fae, "You're as good as dead! If you come back, we will kill you!" The Nocturne, heaving his chest from their pursuit and from the dense Wasteland air, turned to the Ridgeback, "Let's get out of here. No way he will show his face here anymore." The Fae couldn't believe that he was still alive, but he knew that wasn't going to last long. He didn't take his pursuer's threat lightly. The Tangled Woods was a place full of tricksters, thieves, and spies. There was no way he would be able to make a life there anymore. He took in his surroundings, and noticed that the most "normal" wildlife lived at the very edge of the wastes. He could see that further in, there were sickly tendriles twisting and twitching. Unfamiliar with the dangers of the Wastes, he decided to travel along the borders. He would come across another flight's territory eventually. WIP... |
