Thessera is one of the three nursery keepers, or dragons charged with guarding the nests. Nursery keepers, as their names imply, tend to the nests built by other dragons within the territory. The mothers often help in the task, but for Thessera and the others it is a full time job. When the parents are away, it is their duty to check temperatures, watch for predators, and care for newly hatched hatchlings.

But Thessera is a very sweet and motherly dragon, and she loves her job.
