Shadow was born into an Arcane clan. Later that clan moved to the Molten Scar of the Ashfall Waste. Shadow was the direct descendent of both clan leaders, and they decided to do an exchange with a different clan. So, Shadow went to a new clan. She traveled to a large lair in the Wispwillow grove of the Tangled Wood. She journeyed across the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Upon arriving at the new clan, she took up the role of scavenger and also a side alchemist to Vetoxiation, the lesser monarch of the clan.

One night Shadow was out scavenging. She had just found a penny jar and was trying to find more. She had her head to the ground, brushing away leaves and twigs looking for more things to bring back to the clan. Then she heard a rustle, leaves brushing against scales. Shadow spun around, looking for the source of the sound. There was nothing. She dismissed as the wind then headed back towards the clan.

Then she went to Vetoxiation's work place, ready to help with her alchemy. No one was there. A brown clump of fur caught Shadow's eye. Was that a familiar? She started moving closer, but then Vetoxiation entered the work place. She yelled at Shadow, telling her to to get out, over and over. Shadow left, but glanced back before the area was out of sight. She saw Vetoxiation stuffing the clump of fur in a jar then handing it to a pearlcatcher and a fae.

The next night Shadow went scavenging again. She was roaming around, looking for anything that might have value. It seemed that it was not a good scavenging night. Shadow had barely found anything. She get searching for items for many more hours. Then, she found a patch of fungi that was oddly glowing. She looked around, and saw another patch not to far away. She went to it and saw another patch. But when she got to this one she noticed there was a pit in the patch. She leaned over, trying to see what was in it...
