Biography
Second Prince of Val-ar-Aion
"This city would fall to pieces without me, you know. But a prince never begs for gratitude."
Castor the Fearless, or Castor the Vain, depending on whom you ask, and whether you're within earshot of him; it seems the Valari humility skipped a prince when Castor was hatched. The second prince is capricious and demanding, kept in check only by older brother Tyrion. He believes he is entitled to inherit the position of War-King when Noc passes on. Not a single soul agrees.
Despite the many failures of his character, the young upstart owns a certain sense of heroism, impotent though it may be. Joined at the hip with his gentle brother Pollux, he often argues that their roles ought to have been reversed, and Castor should have been the one born a Guardian. After the hundredth or so conversation of this nature, even the infinitely good-natured Pollux can only muster a long-suffering sigh.
this one slaps too
-a napoleon complex for the ages
-can scream for 3 minutes without stopping
-the kind of guy to give himself titles that he didn't earn
-exhibit A: once demanded that his position be renamed to the "Duke of Sunshine"
-always dabbling in some new obsession
-be honest you read that as dabbing the first time
-an even bigger mama's boy than pollux somehow
-pollux is kind of his only friend
-insanely jealous of Sonnehilde, which she responds to by taunting him mercilessly
-this would be bullying if Castor didn't 100% deserve it
"Remember when you were the Duke of Sunshine?" Pollux mused to his brother one afternoon.
"Remember when you wrote like, forty poems about fairy princes?" Castor retorted. At times, he rather wished his family paid as little attention to his perennial fancies as they pretended to. It wasn't like he was the only one with embarrassing pass-times.
"Actually, it was more like twelve," Pollux sniffed, ruffling his wings indignantly.
"Whatever, the point is you wrote a whole lot of poems about fairies."
"They were charming, and inspired. Mother said so. And you look like you're going to summon the Shade with that cloak, should I even bother asking?"
"Black's my colour. We can't all be princes in shining armor."
"Granted, but did you really have to make it tattered?"
Castor shifted uncomfortably. "I, um. I found it like this."
"Castor, I'd know the drapes from the living-room anywhere."
"...Shoot. Do... do Tyri and Sunny know?"
Pollux gave his brother a withering look. Castor wilted into the oversized hood of his makeshift cloak.
"...Yeah, ok, you're right. Ok."
