Origins:
This subspecies seems to be ancient. Their ancient civilization was unearthed during the construction of a new set of lightning spires. When the first of its species joined modern civilization it didn't know about how machinery worked nor how it could be powered through cables and wires. They explained their "magics" were once what caused long-since lost megalith stone creatures to come to life and serve as tools for the dragons. Their "magics" contain strong Lightning Elemental magic, gifted to them by the Stormcatcher. Lightning residents were intrigued by their technologies, which were far more advanced than their own wires and copper plates, that they thought it was magic rather than technology. Now, seeing how enamored lightning residents are with their technology, the Runic dragons have agreed to assist lightning clans in reviving their ancient but powerful technology. Region:
First sightings of this subspecies were just to the East of Carrion Canyon where you can be just close enough to the Lightning Farm to feel the electricity in the air.

Appearance:
Runic Technology dragons have dark grey skin and wings patterned with lighter grey and lightning blue streaks and spots. Today this coloration is commonly described as Lead Skink/Spinner. Their most distinctive and characteristic feature are their glowing blue rune patterns decorating their bodies. Less characteristic tertiary patterns on this subspecies can be glimmering underbelly and horns, crackling gems, or a bold line pattern. Again in today's terms this coloration is named Aqua Runes. This subspecies has also been recorded less often to have Cyan, Robin, Turquoise, or Spruce tertiary color. They will almost always have Lightning eyes. Dragons with other eye colors such as Ice, Light, Fire, and Plague can still have traces of Lightning magic (albeit weak and almost useless. Their gifted element always overpowers their trace Lightning magic).

Behavior:
Have their own language, it sounds garbled, but melodic. Their runes glow when they speak. They tend to be quiet and secretive, but are very social and likes being surrounded by friends and family.
