Tonight is the night that I'm leaving Clan Lumen. An early winter frost covers the otherwise bright Sunbeam Ruins, and an evening breeze chills the air. I'm used to the cold, though - I was born in the Southern Icefield. There is still light filtering in through the many clouds in the sky. I add the finishing touches to my tattered leather journal that I will be using for my journey across Sorienth. I've had it forever, but I've never used it for anything.

I bid one last farewell to Clan Lumen, and I set out to embark on my journey. I'll be back someday, but for now, this is goodbye. A new adventure is just around the corner.

As I touch down in the Abiding Boneyard, a heavily armored Imperial flies towards me warily. "Are you Irene, the travelling dragon?" I nod my head, overwhelmed by the sheer size of the Imperial. She relaxes visibly and hurries me along, introducing herself as Vigilance. What a fitting name, I thought, she is very alert. As we fly towards the clan, I observed my surroundings. The Abiding Boneyard was slightly misty, and skulls littered the ground. Of dragons or prey, I did not know and did not wish to know. I had heard that travelers often find themselves lost for centuries- or even for an eternity. I shivered at the thought of being lost in the Scarred Wastelands and was glad that I had Vigilance, a dragon who knows her way around these parts, to guide me.

We reached the clan in a few minutes and a grey wildclaw with a golden wolf cape was waiting for us. She pushed back her wolf cape, revealing bright green eyes. "I am the clan leader, Juliette. We are glad you could make it. Please make yourself at home, if you need anything or have questions, you can ask any of us." I gave the clan's camp a quick sweeping, glance and thanked Clan Canteloupe for their hospitality.

It's time to leave the Scarred Wastelands. I thought, gathering up the last of my stuff that I had not packed yet and placed them into my bag. I had learned a lot about survival. I read through my diary entries and closed it, placing it into my bag carefully. Vigilance was waiting for me outside, along with a few other clan members. Ibuki, the clan's librarian, gave me a new pen and a extra book to write in, in case I ran out of space to write in my current diary. A few skydancer hatchlings ran around my feet. "I'll miss you!" Calanthia said. "Come on, it's time to go." Vigilance flapped her wings, hovering in the sky. I gave Calanthia a little hug and with a smile, leaped off into the sky with a huge flap and followed Vigilance out of the Scarred Wastelands- and onto my next adventure.

This afternoon I landed in Shadow territory. Foxfire Brambles, the thorniest, most narled region within the Tangled Woods, is by no means welcoming at first glance. Two hooded dragons greeted me, a Guardian and a Ridgeback. The Guardian- Shini, she calls herself- is of course the smaller one; she found me first. After a quick huff, she introduced me to her underling, Auralion.

"I'm glad we found you!", Auralion had said, "There's a storm coming through this area, we've got to get you to shelter!".

The sun was just begining to set as we left, and I can only wonder what lies ahead in my next adventure.

December 11th, 2016
Last evening we made it to the shelter within this clans den. Not however, without getting caught in a few brambles! Some of the youngsters seemed so amused when I first arrived.

I have been introduce to the clan leader, Viktor. She has said she's more than happy to let me take shelter until the storm passes, much to my relief.

"It's not often we see travelers pass through here!" Viktor had said. "I'd like to welcome you with open arms, please, stay as long as you'd like."

December 12th, 2016
The past two days with Clan Victory (as they call themselves) have been interesting to say the least! The woods they reside in are shrouded in darkness, but the ones I have met are far more light-hearted than one would expect. I've been welcomed to feast at every meal (food is suprisingly plentiful here! Evening meals are especially hardy), and when the sun falls, then it's truly time for festivities to begin. The clan invited me to spend the night to drink, dance, sing, and laugh together, as they do every storm, they explained.

It seems that, before the end of the night, one of the younger dragons have played a little trick on me! I appear to be covered in catnip, and now every cat from the Driftwood Drag to the Obscured Crescent has traveled just to see me. Well, I suppose I must welcome fellow travelers, haha!

Tonight the rain has lifted, the clouds parted, and the sun finally shines through the trees. Even in full sunlight, these lands still seem to be covered in darkness, though this clan celebrates regardless.

"This celebration is dedicated to you, Irene!" Viktor had shouted, holding up her goblet in her claws. "We can't simply let you leave in plain goodbyes, your visit has brought us great joy!"

I've eaten my final meal with Clan Victory, at the Daybreak Feast, the last celebration during the storm. We've certainly ended with a bang, and I could not have been more glad to be caught in a storm.

My time has come to leave, and so I pack what belongings I hadn't lost on the way here, fit in the extra supplies that Viktor has given me, and write my final entry during my time in The Tangled Woods. My next adventure awaits!

December 14th, 2016

I land on a sandy beach, marvelling at the feeling of the crystal waters. I'm slowly drawn deeper in, as I get lost in the clouds overhead. As I'm about shoulder-deep in, I pause.

A tiny fae suddenly shoots out of the water, creating an enormous wave of water. He lets out a squeak of alarm, and groans. "Shoot! I did it again." He whines, stamping his foot in mid-air.

A skydancer gracefully emerges from the waters as well, and upon seeing the state the we were in, he laughs. "You did, didn't you?" He holds out a hand. "Don't mind him, he did that to me too. I'm Xinlan."

"Did that to you too?" I ask, shaking his hand.

"I used to be a traveller." He smiles wryly. "Back in the good old days, when I wasn't stuck with this clan." The fae lets out an insulted squeak, and the skydancer- Xinlan- pats his head. "You know I love you, why are you insulted?" He turns back to me. "Somehow I found my way here, and he came shooting out of the waves, exactly like today, and splashed me horribly. We've been best buddies since. Anyways, are you here to join our clan?"

"No, just travelling." A fellow traveller? That was exciting.

Xinlan laughs again, although harder. "That's what I thought when I came here. Then an hour becomes a day, a day becomes a week, then a month, and then by that time, you've already fallen in love with this place. But we won't keep you here. I'm sure you have a home to return to." He straightens up. "But, if you're a traveller, then it's only right that you get to see the wonders of our clan. And I am interested in your adventures. Want to trade stories?"

"Sure. Why not?" I smile, and the fae flies over to warily land on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry." He mumbles.

Xinlan nods at me and the little fae, before diving down into the waters and disappearing. The fae follows suit, gesturing for me to come down too. I hesitate for a second, before bravely going under.

After my exploits in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, I felt the strangest urge to travel to the Starfall Isles. The pull was like gravity, so strong that it was almost tangible. How could I ignore something like that?

I flew for a solid day before landing in a clearing in the Star Wood Strand. The irresistible urge subsided as soon as my claws touched the grass, but I still wandered around the trees looking for the source. Much time passed, and the goal of my search became to find my way out of the forest, for I had become lost. Then, as light was fading and panic was beginning to set in, a blur of blue and white barreled into me.

I bared my teeth and assumed fighting stance. I took in the appearance of my attacker: a Nocturne wearing a lab coat and goggles.

"Sorry about that! I thought you were a spy. It's my fault; I was tweaking the entrance parameters for the pocket dimension and I guess I left a couple of gaps in the border. It altered the surrounding magnetic field, too; Arcane residents are used to that sort of thing but I know foreigners can be sensistive... I'm Caelu, by the way."

She added her name as an afterthought to her rapid and incomprehensible apology. Then, using far more words than necessary, she led me to her clan's manager, Shein. He explained to me that his clan, called Esoteric, was a sort of refuge for mentally and physically handicapped dragons, and that the lair was an artificial environment contained within a pocket dimension, the entrance to which I had stumbled upon in the Star Wood Strand.

I was shown around the lair, and am now resting by the fire in one of the community caverns. As I write this, an Autumn Millifae is scuttling in circles around me. I've never seen one out of the water before - perhaps it's attracted to the lingering traces of catnip. The clan's entomolist, Vikayez, is telling me that the arthropod's name is Mimmau.
December 21st, 2016
A new dragon unexpectedly joined Esoteric today. A little Wildclaw hatchling quite literally fell out of the sky right as we were eating dinner. This should have been impossible because of the lair's protective magic, but I suppose Caelu's tweaks were still causing side effects. Since all of the other Wildclaws here are either mentally disabled or busy with work duties, I helped a nurse take care of the hatchling. He either couldn't or wouldn't tell us his name, so we called him Nebolan.
December 26th, 2016
I can barely muster the energy to keep my eyes open right now, but my lingering excitement is enough to keep my claw moving mover the page.

Last night, a pearlcatcher named Aru took Nebolan and me out of the artificial lair and into the real Star Wood Strand. What he showed us was simply breathtaking. There were constellations in the night sky, but there were also constellations in the glowing flowers of the Strand, so it felt like the whole universe was surrounding us. Aru, self-proclaimed "aerial cartographer" spent the whole evening showing us the natural beauty of the night.

I don't think the Starfall Isles can get any better. As tired as I am, it is time to move from this arcane place onto my next adventure.
December 26rd, 2016
I've traveled to four clans already, which is a true achievement. I can't decide which one of them I enjoyed the most; each of them had something unique that was to love. I felt a strange pull home to the Sunbeam Ruins as I left the Starwood Strand, but to stay with another Clan there aside from my own. I decide to fly into Clan Lumen to let everyone know that I'm okay and of my adventures, before leaving to another part of the Ruins.

After I've taken flight, a sensation of homesickness hits me. Something in my mind is telling me, calling me, to return home. I'm one to trust my instincts, so I follow the voice and return home to stay.
