______ Betelgeuse has only one desire in life: to be left alone to his studies, on his own, but never lonely. Alas, this was never meant to be, as he is constantly being dragged off into The Mire by (his favorite, though he won't admit it) two idiots. His dry sense of humor and sharp tongue have been known to leave many dragon's sens of pride bleeding like an open wound. Called a grump by many, and Master Archamge by many more, Betelgeuse finds himself beneath the weight task of tutoring the clan's mages. The battle mage is unappreciative of the task, though very appreciative of the large library curated by the clan's lore keeper, Rhetsis. When left to his own devices, he can be seen pouring over arcane tome after arcane tome, occasionally scribbling down notes, his seafoam colored scales stained with ink of different colors.

______ It is not a terribly unusual occurance to find Betelgeuse engaged in a debate with Georges or Hecate, over the more scholarly aspects of life, or even in ensconced in a game of chess in one of the quieter corners of the lair. It is, to the Archmage's chagrin, an even less unlikely occurance to see him marching determinedly away into The Mire, throwing nasty master level spells at enemies. It is even far less unlikely to see him scolding either his battle mates or one of his students for their idiotic behavior. Praise from Betelgeuse is scant (not unusual considering the current batch of extremely troublesome mage students), but heartfelt whenever it is given. It is a well known fact to all of the hatchlings in the lair (Squidge also, by extent, though she would not breathe a word of it to any other living being) that the Archamge carries some extremely delicious wrapped sweets in the pockets of his coat that will more than occaisionally find their way into their claws.
