 Oh Sindri ... why must I write this? Don't you know that I'm a lady of action rather than of useless writing? If you weren't the reason of my Search, I swear ... It is I, Lady Rae, once of Tidelord's dominion and now that of generous Windsinger. Only those whom I deem worthy can call me by my birth name, Gonurae. Should you make such a mistake, I will take great pleasure to ingrain the message into your thick skulls. Sindri ... must I continue? I feel foolish. May I return later? Yes! Thank goodness! I have returned! Now then ... where to start ... I suppose it would be wise to jot down some of my favorite memories. Let's start with the first day Sindri and I stayed in these Steppes. Sindri was so very morose to see his father and other brethren leave without him to Icewarden's domain. I tried to remind him that I was doing the same sacrifice for him, the ungrateful brat. He said he understood, but I could tell in his eyes that he was still down. Thank the heavens his wolf Hau decided to stay with him! I don't think I could handle living all of eternity with him moping all the time. Anyways, the three of us was the start of our little clan. And all clans need some protection! Sindri may have been quite uh ... "skilled" at diplomacy from learning from his father, but he knew nothing about having a good defense! So, I took it to myself to train both him and Hau. That started off horribly. Sindri couldn't hold a sword to save his life! Uh, after the 10th time he nearly lobbed off his own head, I thought about using breath attacks. Thank the heavens that Tundras have an innate ability to use them. Sindri quickly became skilled at using breath attacks, and I naturally have high skills at more physical combat. Nothing would be able to attack us now! At least, that's what we thought. Mother Nature had other plans. Did you know that Windsinger's domain had dreadful storms with powerful gusts? Yes? Then you were much better prepared than Sindri and I. The first storm we weathered together scared Hau senseless. He ended up escaping our little home and ran into the storm. We spent hours trying to fight winds, trying to find him. Then, the strangest thing happen. This odd raven with a blue gen in its chest started calling out for me from the storm. Curious, Sindri and I started to follow it. It lead us straight to Hau, shivering in the cold under an overturned tree. While Sindri tried to drag Hau out of his hiding hole, I went to thank the curious bird. Now if you thought that was odd, it seemed like it was a bird on a mission. It followed us back home. Seeing that the storm looked like it was going to get worse, I offered to let the Storm Seeker a spot in our home to stay while it passed. It seemed to understand, because it immediately flew into our home. That little Storm Seeker seem to decide to let us keep him after that. Since Sindri had Hau, it was only fair that I get a little friend. I named him Gale, you know ... like the wind? Gale loved the name, and joined our little family. Hm ... maybe this wasn't such a bad idea Sindri. I love reminiscing about our past. ... Shoot. I can't let him know, he'd say "I told you so". Don't ya'll be telling him now! If you don't, I might consider letting you call me Lady Gonurae. NOT Gonurae, mind you. That's still only reserved for special people, but I can let this slide. ... Please? |
