Biography

ESOTERIC EXPLORERS - MELEE

Cat is the melee of the duo, and should be paired with Mia, the mage of the duo.
Eliminate Turn order varies hugely from round to round, and each round takes a little planning to most efficiently take down enemies. Cat's turns are simpler than Mia's: Scratch anything not already damaged, and Eliminate anything that is.
Rally Cat can Scratch + Eliminate everything but bosses while rallied. If Rally wears off or you somehow forget to use Mia's turn to Rally, you should have Cat Rally herself as soon as possible.
Rock Slash You won't be doing much with Cat other than Scratching, Eliminating, and the occasional Rally, but Sap can help heal a little if Mia goes down, and Rock Slash will be effective against the Fear Frog in particular.
Considerations:
  • Mia (the mage) should come before Cat (the melee) in the turn order so that Mia can Rally Cat, allowing Cat to immediately start Scratching + Eliminating.
  • Rally lasts for 5 turns, but the icon does not disappear until the start of the 6th turn. Therefore, it can be difficult to tell when Cat needs another Rally before the 6th turn. It can be helpful to count Cat's turns in your head as you go to keep track, and have Mia Rally Cat just before the 6th turn.
  • This build is very slow for leveling dragons, and is mostly intended for farming in the Forbidden Portal, with a little leveling on the side as a bonus.
  • This build can be used in the Golem Workshop as well, though Cat and Mia's elements are better suited to the Forbidden Portal.
  • This duo can easily handle bosses! Use up Cat's breath either on Eliminates for the Terror Toad or Rock Slashes for the Fear Frog, and then build your breath back up again while finishing the boss off. If Cat gets Disoriented by the Terror Toad, however, reset.

Flowering Cactus 		Cat was one of my first breeding projects, and may have even been the first that I ever started, though in the 23 agonizingly long months it took to get her, I completed 9 others. By the time she hatched, I couldn't even fathom why I wanted her in the first place, and so she lingered, unused and unloved in my lair. I tried to get her some buddies, Gato and Neko, hoping the trio would spur more inspiration in me. It never came.

For a long time, I had a vague idea of raffling them off, and even leveled them to 25 in anticipation, but that too fizzled away. When the Hibernal Den was released, I was quick to shove them to the back of my den, awaiting the day I'd find some use for them, and they sat there, ignored for many months.

At long last, when I was looking into acquiring dragons to lend to other Nature members, I suddenly remembered the trio of cats, and now, new purpose has been found for them. Neko and Gato were easy to dress up, the inspiration readily flowing, but Cat stumped me for a bit, before I decided, to heck with it, I'll just give her a skin. So much for that 23-month-long breeding project.

Now, she fights alongside a new member of the clan, Mia, teaching other clans the dangers and rewards of the Forbidden Portal, and in her downtime, enjoys making tea of the strange things she's found.
