Coriolane hatched with a gene defect that made her wing muscles underdeveloped and rendered her unable to fly. Her parents, scared of losing their ranks in their strict community, chased her away before anyone else could see her.
Despite everything, Coriolane managed to survive: She found shelter and food, and at only a few weeks old she started teaching herself how to hunt, fight and survive. She bound her limp wings to her sides with a rope so they wouldn't get in her way. She trained her legs, sharpened her claws and ventured away from her freezing homeland to test her skills.
Her travels led her to many regions of Sornieth. She enjoyed the gentle breezes of the Windswept Plateau, battled for her survival with lone Plague bandits and entertained Shadow clans with her fighting skills. But no matter where she made a stop, she didn't stay for long. She got weird looks and even though many lauded her battle prowess, she felt at home with none of them.

That's when she heard of the oracles living in the Sea of a Thousand Currents and her curiosity was piqued. In the hope of gaining knowledge about her future, she started her venture to the Tidelord's domain - and came across an atoll in the Fishspine Reef. A young and growing clan of Water dragons had just made their home here, hoping to unravel the secrets of the ancient ruins on the ocean floor. They offered travellers rest on their territory and Coriolane accepted the offer. During her stay she met the clan's leader, Blumiose, and quickly became friends with the young Skydancer. Coriolane had gained much experience on her travels and eagerly helped the young leader with her tasks. Her stay lasted much longer than she had planned. She watched the clan grow and prosper, discover ancient technology and become wealthy and powerful. One day, she was approached by Blumiose's head scientist Asha: The Spiral planned to build her a supporting mechanical framework for her wings and asked for her assistance in developing it. She accepted and the experiment was a success: With the help of her prothesis she slowly became able to move and train her wing muscles, and even learn to fly short distances.

Today Coriolane is part of the clan's most effectual fighting party. They travel across Sornieth to secure loot and resources for the clan, and Coriolane is most likely their strongest fighter. She's made a name for herself in the Beastclans' arena and won immense riches. When she's home at the clan's lair, she likes to help training the hatchlings. Her intelligence, strength and warm personality made her many friends and she feels like she finally found a home.
