Biography
"The Sage of Flickering Flames"
A sea of fire. Bright red flames lick at the surroundings, a roaring vortex of destruction. The smouldering inferno hisses, leaping up at some lucky ones who manage to fly up, lashing at them with fiery tongues.
It is a chaotic blur, as shrieks mingle with hissing and yelling and burning.
Screams are everywhere. Death and destruction are everywhere.
He woke up with a jolt. The air around him was fresh, and taking large gulps of it, he shakily stood to his paws, walking down to the ocean. Letting the cool rhythmic waves wash over his whole being, soothing his raw nerves, calming his racing heartbeat down. His red mane fluttered lazily in the breeze, the gentle lapping of waves on the shore calming and quiet.
Why was there fire, and why was I there? Why do I keep dreaming of the same thing? he thought, sitting there in silence, a lone white hatchling against the glittering blue waters. The horrifying scenes of his dream crashed down on him over and over again, a fiery apocalypse of destruction that sent his head spinning and heart racing.
"Hey, Cherryfrost. Had a bad dream?" he recognised the voice's owner as Starfall's young daughter Goldenshore. Mutely, he nodded.
"Let me guess," Goldenshore ventured, "a fire one again?"
Cherryfrost nodded again, sadness echoing in his eyes and trepidation in his heart. The terror of the burning den still lingered, like a cold spiderweb that clung persistently to his heart, a shadow of his dream.
"So, do you want to be a mage?"
"Mage?" Cherryfrost repeated, a little confused. Why me? he thought.
"The nightmares you've always been having... what if they weren't dreams, but visions? Becoming a mage will help you to understand and interpret them, and shake off the fear that comes with the experience. So what do you say?"
Now excited, Cherryfrost bounced up and down, vigorously nodding his head. No words came to mind, not even when he followed the golden Fae back to camp. The only thing that was pieced together in his brain was excitement, as he plunged into a new life.
The visions of fire earned Cherryfrost the nickname "Sage of Flickering Flames". Serving as the link between the curious dragon deity the Arcanist and the Clan of Shining Stars, he couldn't be more proud of his current position. And... his relationship with Goldenshore seems to be more than friendly...
Cherryfrost met Blazeflight, his Phoenix familiar, in a vision of a roaring inferno. Blazeflight followed him through and out of the dream, and has stayed in this realm ever since.
