It all seemed like just a dream. But dreams were her specialty, after all. The dream keeper she was known as, but Yume was her name. If you followed the crows, the whispers of rumor caught by a night breeze, the night doves, you would find her, she who keeps dreams. Every time somebody new came to her, she would warn them of the price of her help, but most ignored her. The nightmares are too much, they all said. But in the back of their minds, a lingering feeling of wrongness remained.

She erased the bad dreams, but a shadow always lingered in their minds. Despite the shadows lingering, most found happiness, if only for awhile. But they found themselves coming back, following the rumors to her once more. She helped them anyhow, the little help she could give. But as easy as it was to help the others, she never could quite erase her own guilt at giving only temporary relief, or her own bad dreams. More than a mere shadow lingered in her own mind, and as much as she tried to erase her own doubts so she could help others, she never was able to. That was the one thing she had no control over.
