 ROANOKE GRAVES PLAGUE BERSERKER ARTIST «- - - - - - - - - - - - - ❖ - - - - - - - - - - - - -» Roanoke begins his existence as both a miracle and a pawn in a one-sided game. The rest of his siblings never wake. He is the first and only one that draws breath. Therefore his mother hopes that this one perhaps will be the one, one to draw her closer to Dante. She shows Roanoke to him. Oh, his attention is certainly there, but not on her: only on the hatchling. For Roanoke the memories are faded, of course, more of a dream now. His mother does not take kindly to it though, leaving him to fend for himself. Fortunately for him he is picked up by the swamp witch Wurdalak and nursed to health. The witch teaches him several things- for one, that his magical potential is astronomically high. It burns inside him in fact, a constant pain that he has to self medicate to alleviate. Eventually he's taken in by the Syndicate and splits his time between the two, unofficially adopted by Mischa Urusov. You can usually find him with a pencil, or a pen, or a paintbrush. Most of the art hung in the Syndicate's halls are done by him, huge sprawling canvases of battlefields and knights. He's a calm, sleepy man most of the time. Spending time with him is largely a quiet time, as he idly talks in a slow, drawling cadence whilst mixing up paints. Deep down though lies an absolute monster. He won't unleash it willingly, but pushed hard enough all that power explodes out in a catastrophically bloody way. It is a sight to behold when he does- possessed by the very spirit of Plague, some say. But most of the time, he's just a sweet artistic man who would rather take a nap than lift a hand to fight anyone.
