Gadget is very undecided in what he wants to be. Sometimes he wants to be a mage and cast powerful spells, other times he wants to be an alchemist and make strong potions, and the rest of the times he wants to tinker in mechanics and engineering and build things that may or may not work. He tries not to let his indecisiveness get in the way of his learning, and has more or less decided that if he has so much trouble picking one thing to do, why not try and do them all. As such, he's gone to pretty much everyone in the Clan who is very skilled at what he wants to be to learn everything he can about it from them.

He's a rather fast learner, but tends to not take his time and learn the more important stuff before trying it out, learning better by doing then researching, which a lot of his chosen professions sort of require a lot of studying so he doesn't get hurt when it comes down to the actual doing. Last thing anyone in the clan wants is for another alchemy related accident happening, or another explosion due to mechanical problems. Or accidental magic misfire. They just want to be safe then sorry, and Gadget reluctantly complies and study's up on everything he'll need to know whenever he gets the chance, though when it comes to the magic training, he does sneak out of the area sometimes to practice.

One of his biggest weak points is his impulsiveness and the inability to sit still and the fact that his attention can wonder a bit.

His best friend is the Pearlcatcher Ren, who he'd started to follow around after he'd saved his life from a pack of wolves when he was out practicing his magic one time when no one else was around. There were a few times when he felt like he might be annoying the pearlcatcher, but he never said anything, so he figured he was okay with his company.
