"Always take heed of the Turn of a Friendly Card ."


Tarot sits quietly in front of a glowing crystal ball set in the centre of a round table. The room is dark, lit only by gently flickering candles which cast unusual shapes on the walls and ceiling. Tendrils of burning incense curl around the room, leaving exotic aromas of patchouli, sandalwood and copal. On the table in front of him are 11 cards, laid out in an intricate pattern, two cards lay face up. The first card reveals the 7 of Swords, upright, the second, Death. Tarot chuckles to himself, and flips the next card in sequence over. His eyes reveal nothing of his thoughts, but the card is The Hierophant. Slowly and methodically he turns the rest of the cards to their faces and sits back, comforted by the overall positive picture he receives. He says to his Tengu Caller, who observed the reading with eyes that shimmer in the candlelight, "Well, Grim...it looks like dinner is going to be a great success this evening! I'll go inform the chef."
