Biography

Barroth's Lore
+~+
Barroth was left in an orphanage when he was only an egg, hatching during the full moon. The Starwood Strand Orphanage wasn't as horrible as the reputation that proceeded it. After changing the ownership once or twice, they finally managed to settle locations and raise the hatchlings properly.
The first of the household owners was an old guardian dragon by the name of Coalthie. She was close to her time of passing when Barroth first hatched and grew up. Roughly 5 moons later, she flew off to serve the Arcanist in her final days. In those 5 moons, Coalthie grew close Barroth and taught him how to play with cards and use them for magic tricks, as was her favorite thing to do. He learn basic slight of hand tricks, and even how to make them float and flip in the air. When Coalthie passed away, she gave him her cards to use and entertain the younger hatchlings.. Thus ending the era of peace in the Starwood Strand Orphanage.
+~+
Unfortunately enough, Barroth had to go through the mentally and physical scarring that came with the second household owner.
Zeradon was a ruthless owner and would abuse the older dragons who lived on the second floor of the home. He was insane and ruthless, becoming more of a dictator rather than a caretaker of the hatchlings and fledglings. His reign was one moon exactly... Then he fell from a tragic accident...
+~+
When Okyu came into the picture, the damage had been done. Barroth was mentally distraught as the week prior to her coming in and taking over the household, he helped killed Zeradon. No amount of love and nurturing could undo the broken stasis of his mind. Over time, however, he would start to come around. Okyu was a beautiful skydancer, and she was around the same age as Barroth, maybe a moon or two older. When she finally broke through his facade, she would learn of his crime. Instead of judging him and casting him out as a monster, she used the cards that Coalthie gave him and began to teach him how to meditate with them.
Through meditation and counseling, Barroth began to get better... And then everything went downhill. Barroth came to being 12 moons, and being evicted from his foster home before he could truly find inner-peace was the worst possible thing they could do to him.
+~+
His first day away from his safe place, Barroth went to the Tangled Wood, and would remain there as he learned the art of gambling. Yes, gambling. You see, during his time with Okyu, she taught him some card games, and warned him not to use these games for greed. It would backfire. WIthout her there to warn him, he made quick work of the rookie scam artists in the Wispwillow Grove.
Soon enough, he rose an empire based around gambling. Any and everyone who would appose his magic would be kicked out from under his claws and stood no chance of being protected from his wrath.
One day, a shadow dragon named Zeirvoirth came into his domain of gambling and terror, smirking as this dragon knew something Barroth did not. The best way to deceive an Arcane Dragon´s detection magic?
