PERSONALITY:
Chenille often dons a regal and knowing persona. It's a habit from her priestess days. For the same reason, she is prone to coming off haughty. The High Priestess is generally present in unfamiliar or uncomfortable situations. Properly settled, Chenille is a politely curious and insightful individual. Additionally, she suffers resting *****-face.

Chenille's connection to the Plaguebringer is so faint that Chenille does not even remember her Mother's name. One of her parents had red eyes, and spoke of the distant goddess who shared their eyes, but Chenille's upbringing on Radiance has left that a distant memory.

HISTORY:
Chenille was born and raised far from Sornieth, on an island named Radiance in the Outlier Sea. There she served in the Cathedral of the Stars as a devoted priestess. She heard confessors, allayed sailors' stresses, and gave counsel to townsfolk. Over the years, Chenille proved herself and rose to the position of High Priestess. The extra duties were not pleasant, but she accepted them with grace.

Although Radiance had once been largely pacifist, Chenille was not unique in her study of self-defense. Radiance had seen destruction before, and its denizens remembered the call to arms. In what little spare time Chenille could carve out, she practiced the degenerative magic of an unfamiliar deity. Ultimately it was enough to save herself (and a few of her followers), but not nearly enough to save her island. Radiance fell, and the survivors fled to Carmine. Life goes on. Chenille began establishing a new foothold.

“This isn’t over.” You see the High Priestess approaching from the cliffs, her veil thrown back over her shoulders. “My name is Chenille."

During the (premature) Rose Festival, Carmine fell under attack from hideous Outsiders. Thanks to the Third Crew of Sornieth-born, Carmine didn't go the way of Radiance. Armed with memories (and knowledge) transferred to her by Namine, Chenille decided to leave her work in the capable hands of her second. The Third Crew and their mission needed her.

Together with the crew, Chenille restored Xion to her physical form. With all of the Heralds in-hand, they set for Untergard and restored the Heart of the Sea. Despite the fact that Zee-born can never survive for long in Sornieth, Chenille and a handful of other former-Heralds were granted clemency.

"So where to first?” says Synestra, holding a map of Sornieth upside-down in front of her face. “I like this Ee-arth place I keep reading about. They have shovels!”

“I’m going to Light,” says Chenille. “Sounds like Radiance.”

And so she went. The Sunbeam Ruins were brilliant. The light was blinding. Maybe even, Chenille found herself thinking one night, too blinding. The Hewn City was her favorite place for a while. It wasn't as fearful as her unforgiving Zee, but its darkness was comforting with its familiarity. It was a transitional period.

After satisfying her curiosity regarding the Light territories, which were glorious indeed but never quite clicked, Chenille set out for familiarity. She wished to remain near the coast, and away from the Plaguelands. As it turned out, one of Chenille's former crewmates lived in the northern Lightning territories. Ready to see more of what Sornieth had to offer, Chenille journeyed to find Clan Stormbay.

CURRENT PLOTS:
Chenille is doing a lot of hanging out with Karios and his library. She's interested in learning more about Sornieth. Sometimes she and Keres visit each other, just to make sure everything that happened was real. It seems so distant sometimes, even though Chenille knows better.
