Necromancer

"Death smiles at us all. All we can do is smile back."

Despite his poly-chromatic plumage and shiny, glistening skin, Memento is drawn to darkest parts that the magical world has to offer. He finds solace in the solitude that necromancy provides. After all, when you summon the dead and banish demons, you aren’t exactly a magnet to socialization. Nearly everyone was scared of Memento and his overwhelming solemness when he first joined the clan, but many have warmed up to him. Even though he looks cold, Memento’s heart soars when the odd few dragons spark a conversation. Memento will gladly listen in while others do the conversing. Some find it rude or upsetting that Memento rarely injects his own thoughts into the discussion, but most are understanding. The skydancer gets so deeply involved into his own head and work, it’s difficult to fully drag him out of the “black magic” mindset most of the time. And when someone does manage to do the Herculean task? Memento is too sleep-deprived to have his head in the game and would rather be taking a nap than talking about the weather. Because of all this, he’s very distant and disconnected from his fellow clanmates. The exception to this is his mate, Mori, who adores watching him work and having him listen to whatever story she has to tell. Her social, outgoing nature is a stark but harmonious contrast to his quiet, solemn attitude.

While he may be somewhat socially inept, Memento is a masterful necromancer. He’s considered the best in the industry within the clan. Nobody comes close to his experience and skill. Demons, ghosts, zombies, hellhounds- he’s seen it all and dealt with it all successfully. He has various incantations (in multiple languages, no less!) memorized like the back of his claw and can rattle them off with ease. If there’s been an ominous rumor about an otherworldly monster, chances are Memento’s banished it back to where it came. Or, perhaps, he’s the one that summoned it to the clan to begin with? His curiosity and need to test himself often gets the best of Memento, causing him to conjure a hellish monster and throw the clan into chaos. He tries to get rid of the demon as quick as possible, but sometimes it’s a more powerful beast than he thought and it takes a bit. But it’s no big deal to Memento! A few damaged buildings and a couple of measly scratches are just the price of a learning experience that betters his skillset. He’d probably get scolded for this if he weren’t feared. In spite of the fact that Memento’s accepted by a majority of the clan, a couple of dragons still think that one day, Memento will snap and unleash total hell. Probably not, though.
