Dolly was raised in a far away pearlcatcher lair. It was a big lair, big enough that not everyone held everyone else accountable. She was viciously bullied by another dragon to the point where her pearl was shattered. Instead of gathering around her and helping her, the lair cast her out. She wandered the land looking for help, but a pearlcatcher with no pearl is a strange thing in a land mostly populated by pearlcatchers. She found nowhere to shelter her. She eventually wandered into the desert and got lost, expecting to die. Cardamaim found her out there while she was fishing and brought Dolly back with her. The new lair has helped her get back on her feet. She views it as her home now and doesn't want to leave.

Dolly is kind, and she is passionate about merciful justice. The vulnerable should be protected. Those with the strength and power should help those who do not. She comes off as a little serious a lot of the time, and she is. She likes to have fun but she's come from a hard place and because of that she strives to leave the world better than she found it. She doesn't like showing off, but she will be there for those who need it. Dolly is a fairly devout follower of the Lightweaver. She believes Lightweaver was responsible for Cardamaim finding her and rescuing her. Her faith is very personal, though, and she doesn't talk about it with just anyone.

As the only other PC around, Magebane has been very patient and kind to her, helping her come to terms with the loss of her pearl and her old life. He never pressured her to start a new pearl, but he was the first to celebrate with her when she decided it was time. She's very close with Cardamaim and helps her with her fishing business when it's needed. They've been dating for a while. She's a little afraid of loud and careless, dangerous dragons. Sometimes she is too afraid to do more than talk, and needs others to support her. Cardamaim always has her back, and Cardamaim is a huge and ferocious dragon to have as support. Dolly thinks the world of her.
