*record scratch* *freeze frame* [A big bright explosion sends a peaceful Light lair into utter chaos. A golden Fae is plastered on the wall. A bulky Guardian's beard is in flames. Pillars are crumbling, and a Lightweaver's effigy is blown to smithereens. On the foreground, a soot-covered Spiral is pushed away by the force of the blast.] "Yup, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation..." If there's one thing that can be said about Agrippa is that he never gives up. After all, no alchemist worthy of the name ever got to where they are without exploding a few cauldrons, right? Ok, a few dozens, give or take. Still, no matter how inspiring his tale of perseverance might be, all the members of the Brightlight Beacon clan ever wanted was for him to throw in the towel. But, as luck would have it, their wishes would not be granted. It didn’t help that Agrippa had been taken in by none other than the Clan Leader herself. As a close friend of Agrippa’s now deceased mother, the devout Leader saw it as her duty to the Lightweaver to take care of the young Spiral, which left the rest of the clan with no other choice but to plain and simply suck it up. That is, of course, until a very dangerous experiment of Agrippa’s literally turned the whole lair upside-down with a powerful blast of fire and bad decisions. In the blink of an eye, the squeaky clean lair the Leader had once been so proud of had turned into a mess of rubble and embers. The Matriarch then decided her “duty to the Lightweaver” was pretty much done anyway, and so she hastily and strongly escorted Agrippa out of her territory to stay away until further notice. Agrippa knew he had to find a place to stay. His experiments were still unfinished, after all. His desire for more scientific endeavors led him east, to the Starfall Isles, where he stumbled upon Darjeeling and the rest of the clan. Although neither Alfons nor Cerisse seemed too eager to let the erratic Spiral into their lair, Darjeeling eventually decided to let him stay. Who has he to stop that young dragon’s pursuit of knowledge? Cerisse sighed at her Leader’s compassionate heart. Life with Agrippa was sure to be…interesting, to say the least. |
