»About.
Mortem's age has undoubtedly caught up with him. His muscles have atrophied, his heavy wings jaw to the left and to the right, but most importantly, his tire is seen though his eyes. His underbite was more exaggerated that it used to be, sure, but his eyes lay sundried and pale in their sockets. Crow's feet pull at his eyelids despite just moments ago saying that he was awake and ready to take his daily stride through the Enclave.
"His memory is leaving him too." Ferrum noticed. "Eventually the legacy clan will be less than just one dragon's memory, but a legend, and then I'll forget it too..." Mortem's son said, worrying over his inability to create or find an heir.

Mortem is the enclave's armor smith. What little strength he has left is hammered into fine metal (and his students). Having been a warrior once himself, he knows what works and what doesn't, and (while he can't actually stand) stands to be a good barterer. Due to age and weakness, he mainly sits around watching, judging, and telling others what to do, but that's good enough. He often takes on apprentices, genuinely hoping they will better the craft as the generations go on.

Notes:
-The old version of the Enclave led by Mortem, originally settled in the Scarred Wasteland, had to be uprooted and moved due to the expanding boundary of a fiercer clan.

I'm curious to know, what is your charge?
26599606p.png?mtime=XmbKvwAAOkw.png The old guardian chuckled.
"My charge certainly would be providing for those I care about. Throughout life I found this calling came in many forms, so even as I no longer lead them in the form of a clan leader, I can still provide for them in my weakened state. For instance I provided shelter in numbers for my family and accomplices so I formed the clan, then moved the clan out of the Scarred Wasteland when we were threatened, providing new safety within the Gladeveins. I was able to provide what I think was a very suitable heir to lead the clan when I could no longer handle the work. And now I provide with the last of my mind and body to the clan in the form of a blacksmith teacher, now only able to lend my expertise and advisory to apprentices. At this point I feel very fulfilled with my charge."

"You make armor- or design it, right? So what things do you take into consideration when you design it? What's your priority when designing? Is there anything it can't live without?"
26599606p.png "Well it's always good first to consider what you'll be using it for. Arial armor restricts your design choices. It usually has to weigh less and is usually more form-fitting. It also can't have a bunch of spikes or layers or plates that could catch wind and throw off flight. Ground contact armor and tank armor tend to be heavy, and metal, and designer's choice if they care to add crap like flags, spikes, frills, crests, and what-not. Guard armor is usually the fanciest and I would take the most liberties designing it. I've even seen a bracer with a built-in cupholder."
