- a b o u t - Io is head of the Tech Department: she was a key figure working in conjunction with Page II (later known as the Bot Division) on their projects. She was also a collaborator on the time machine project (alongside Noor, Caern, and Ruth) and was having the time of her life with it- until it stalled, that is. Unbeknownst to her, the project was successful in another reality: see Xek. Due to her nocturnal habits and independent nature, Io doesn't find much time to participate socially with the rest of the Center. For the most part, she fixes what needs to be fixed, builds what needs to be built, holds her classes (usually just one, late in the evening), and then spends the rest of her time taking to the night sky where she's most comfortable. A fast-paced and energetic individual, Io puts her all into her work and (on the rare occasion she's indoors) lights up any room she walks into, but she's hard to get to know on any deep level. It's thought that Io has a psychic empathy link of some sort to Caern- this is true, although this link is very limited and allows the pair to feel only a sliver of each others' emotions. Due to this the two have a special bond, but they don't speak to each other much at all. The only other Center member Io has had a close personal connection to is her daughter Sibyl- Io loves her and would risk her life for her without hesitation. Io has secretly been infatuated with Estariel since they first met. Io is, as a matter of fact, not completely 'dragon'- she's 'reinforced', infused with both magic and technology, as can be seen by the glowing circuitry beneath her scales. She didn't originally know this, but it was brought to light with the escalation of Bot Division projects and turned out to be a valuable source of inspiration for them. Io introduced the team to work at Tempest Spire. Back when the Center was located in the Starfall Isles, pairs of dragons journeyed there regularly, bringing in the majority of funding during that time. Eventually, the Center relocated to the Shifting Expanse, but then lost a sizeable portion of faculty and students to the Stormcatcher's service before moving to Earth to reorganize. - r e l a t i o n s -
