Hematite

Hematite is the cool to Ember's hot, more quiet and calculating. Between the two of them, they get into all sorts of shenanigans, usually planned by Hematite and executed by Ember. Ember is happy to take the blame for her girlfriend's schemes. Hematite sees Ember's service as a valuable asset.

Hematite doesn't fully remember why she thinks of other dragons as tradeable resources and why she is so attached to material goods, but in actuality it stems from her early life, before she joined the lair. Hematite's family was so poor and hungry that they resorted to selling their hatchling to buy food. The clan matriarch, Donadar, wanted to take them all in, but at that time she hadn't the resources to take on more adult dragons. With a blessing for good luck, Donadar bought their child from them. She holds onto a vague hope that one day they will find the family again, with the ability to let them join the clan, but she doesn't know how she would explain that to Hematite should it actually happen.
