These little faes buzz around their respective homes with speed and agility. In addition to their regular insect diet, they are fond of sipping nectar drinks and nibbling on sugary treats. They have high maintenance personalities, always needing attention. They don’t make a lot of noise, just the occasional word here or there. They are very social with other Ruby Throats, though there may be conflict if two Ruby Throats from different Charms (groups of Ruby Throats) try to approach the same flower at the same time.
Within the Ruby Throats, the range of wing colors is fairly wide. Dark-winged Ruby Throats have a most aggressive streak and are most likely to be active at night. Light or Bright-winged Ruby Throats are diurnal and much more cheerful (though still competitive). Ruby Throats with Peridot secondaries are said to be the happiest and the fastest of all Ruby Throats.
These faes can be found all over Sornieth, though they tend not to do well in colder climates like the Southern Icefield, or in harsher climates like Dragonhome, the Scarred Wasteland, or the Ashfall Waste. Ruby Throats living in these territories will need extra care; a garden filled with lush flowers (a greenhouse or a large terrarium works well) and a constant heat source. Aside from the Zephyr Steppes, the largest native colony tends to be in the Everbloon Gardens of the Viridian Labyrinth. Ruby Throats here are more likely to cultivate their own flower gardens, instead of raiding other gardens.

Lore
In the short bamboo forests that grow on the Zephyr Steppes, there comes the sounds of wings beating faster than a regular dragon’s, and little green bullets zip through the bamboo on their search for the sweetest nectar. Visitors to the area are likely to find Ruby Throat faes busy at work in the bamboo, raiding private gardens and wild patches like there’s no tomorrow. These little faes buzz around their respective homes with speed and agility. Official Variants
To be classified as a true Ruby Throat, the tertiary of the fae must be Ruby. However, Cherry is an acceptable alternate to the subspecies – Ruby Throats that are born with Cherry tertiaries are called Cherry Chests and are generally less quick than a Ruby Throat, though arguable sweeter. They bear the same variations in mood based on secondary colors as the Ruby Throats.
