The Caretaker
Despite being born on the Higher Eschelon of the Clan, she takes care of the Hatchlings. She teaches them basic manners and supervises their lessons with others. She makes sure that they grow up as good dragons.

The world can be harsh and it can be cruel, but that doesn’t mean that we have to be. Heliotrope is dedicated to bringing a little bit of light into the world, one dragon at a time. She teaches the hatchlings of the clan honor and common courtesy through example; sometimes, her lessons consist of nothing more than helping the healer for a day or picking flowers to arrange into a bouquet. The hatchlings behave better when they’re around her, even when not in a lesson. She shows them to try harder and strive for higher, and nobody wants to crush her faith and hope for the little ones. Heliotrope doesn’t know the meaning of the word anger. When one of her students does disobey, she doesn’t hurt them or even yell. Instead, she fixes them with a remorseful glare from her beautiful ice-blue eyes and frowns in disappointment, looking far more likely to cry than laugh. Her students say that this method of punishment is the most effective one they've seen.

Heliotrope does this not because she must, but because she wants to. She was born into a higher class of dragons and was always handed everything silver platter. Whenever she saw the more savage dragons of her clan, she wished that someone had shown them kindness when they were younger, before they were made into cold-hearted fighting machines. As soon as she was old enough, she left her gilded cage and stood on her own two legs in the world, self-employed and completely independent, in order to show the hatchlings how to do the same. And what a difference it has made.
