Biography

She/Her and/or They/Them, asexual

Only active dragon of her colors.

A very sharp-tongued and ironically dry-humored water acolyte, Lazuli was brought up in an extremely staunch water clan. Her egg washed upon the shore and was swiftly taken in once its citizens realized it contained a living hatchling. While its tight knit community welcomed her with open claws, she never quite felt she fit in. Many of them were true water elementals and mages, and she always longed to feel the same. Her magic still took on many of the qualities of her clanmates', but she always felt somewhat ashamed that she couldn't be like them. Even so, she used her abilities to protect her clan as best she could. She worked as a battlemage on their coliseum hunting expeditions, but even then felt she wasn't as useful as she could be.

On one occasion, she and her clanmates were tracking through the Rainsong Jungle when they found a clan allied with a local Overcharged Silverbeast herd. They did not take kindly to a group of hunters who had down Silverbeast in the past, but did not make their presence known just yet. They quietly tracked Lazuli and her teammates until they happened upon their. Then, they wracked havoc with their powerful blasts of lightning. Many of the water elemental dragons simply couldn't take the heavy damage and were wounded in the encounter. The coliseum team themselves struggled against hordes of competent enemy dragons and beasts. They only barely managed to scrape through, but may not have survived without the aid of Lazuli's immense wind-based magic. Lazuli still believes she doesn't deserve as much credit as she deserved, but was blessed by the clanleader whom had received their magic from the Tidelord himself. The least Lazuli could be given for her bravery was hints of strong water magic and the Seawater Savior, while her own clan views her as one of its most heroic warriors.

This clan was ally to Shamira's first clan, and learned of its downfall too late to do anything. Lazuli was of course deeply concerned, and arrived with many warriors in hopes of checking on them or rescuing them. They followed their remains and tracks until they found their fledgling territory in the Emberglow Hearth. It was a long journey that left them exhausted, but she and her companions were more that happy to reunite with their partners. Shamira explained the situation to them as her clan looked after them, slowly introducing them to their new efforts to make peace with the beasts they shared their home with. Lazuli was critical of this from the get go. She was still scarred from her encounter, and believed such a thing to be dangerous at best. As much as she didn't want to, Lazuli decided to stay behind with the clan to protect them in case history repeated itself or its system backfired. She was one of the first to form the Clairvoyants of the Deep, and is one of the staunchest supporters of its harsh regulations. She doesn't want any more dragons dying by the beastclans' claws, and refuses to allow anyone into the clan who can't hold their own.

While not inclined at first, Lazuli has grown to accept the way the clan works with the Beastclans. Its Beastclan allies/familiars are not hostile and aggressive as the others, and its habits rubbed off on her and Mercy, her Saltwater Savior. Through bonding with their allies, she learned more about Mercy's habits. The two share a passion for magic and protecting others, even if Mercy is much softer and easily upset than the crude, sarcastic Lazuli. Their relationship before was only a partnership, but now they have become inseparable as they are driven to protect their new clan.
