Miriel from a very young age has had the unpleasant power of everyone around her falling ill and dying within two days time. In fact, there are rumors that her entire clan was wiped out by her unknown sickness. At first scientists would attempt to unravel the mystery and put an end to the poor girls lonely existence but they too would quickly succumb and it wasn't long before anyone was too afraid for their own lives to save hers. However, the girl didn't seem too afraid of her powers and even seemed to be amused by them as she grew up. Warped by a sense of loneliness and being entirely unsocialized by people who didn't immediately end up dead, the young girl couldn't understand complex human emotions of the fear of death. It wasn't like she particularly wanted to feel such unpleasant feelings anyways... But what nobody knew, perhaps not even Miriel herself, was that it wasn't a strange unknown sickness that was filling the graveyards. No, it was the girl herself. Miriel would fall into an alternate state once her victims began to show signs of illness and she'd slip into their quarters and end their existence with a sharp cooking knife she always carried. The girl's body naturally released a pheramone that made people feel unwell around her but with a few nights rest they'd be right as rain. Unfortunately, no one ever made it that far. And thanks to a strange mysterious spirit that follows the woman around, there were no evident traces of blood to be found on or in the body. Its unknown if Miriel herself truly knows that she's responsible for the murders. The girl understands that people around her drop dead but if its intentional, no one can be certain. Is she putting up a strange facade of not knowing the truth or is she truly unaware of her darker side? No one knows, and the woman will never answer questions like that. Not that anyone has lasted long enough around her to ask anyways. |
