  From a young age, Ruha took an interest in the pearls of Pearlcatchers. Regarding them, she perceived some intangible sense of the owner's well-being on some level. Due to the nature of the pearls of Pearlcatchers, she came to consider it that she was perceiving their souls. It didn't stop there. The fact that non-Pearlcatchers lacked pearls stumped Ruha somewhat in her curiosity in the topic of souls. However, as she experienced dragons at the pinnacle of their craft, art, or efforts (from theatre to forging, all are applicable), the Pearlcatcher conceptualised that the souls of all may shine at such a point. From speaking with Skydancers, Ruha only felt more assured about it. |

Besides souls, Ruha nurtured an interest in dreams, but more as a medium rather than a method of self-reflection. Her research reached the point where she was able to experiment with friends and learn from practice.
The method that was practiced enabled one dragon to enter another's 'dream-atrium' and speak there. It was observed, however, that this in itself bore no means of civil entrance. Entries could be rough, and surprise an unprepared host. From spending time in a dream-atrium, Ruha found herself able to determine what she saw as a second name to the host. What she dubbed an 'astral name' as opposed to one's 'material name'.
With these, it became possible for her to willfully enter a traversing state while asleep, and call the astral name of one she wished to visit the atrium of. To which the recipient could prepare, as well as either offer or deny entry.
 Art by Pinguin. | Due to this, Ruha has been tasked with communications of a certain type. It has been considered most convenient for everyone of potential need to simply learn her astral name: Moya. Developments in the Somnis project have led to the creation of a potion which enables any dragon to enter the the traversal state. So it became the case where any group in the field could contact Ruha at the lair to exchange reports and status-checks, as well as modify objectives when necessary. It is not forced upon individuals uncomfortable with the experience, but only one member of a group in the field is required to for use of the astral communication method anyway. |
The Pearlcatcher is motivated by curiosity and what she deems beautiful. With the latter, it is joy, enthusiasm, exultation and similar emotions which make a soul most beautiful to her. She would describe herself, if inquired, as an appreciator fine furnishings, her atrium being adorned with richly patterned cushions and furniture of lacquered wood. 'Plush'.
Ruha prefers to avoid direct confrontation, which can make life trying for any clan-member looking to confront her on an issue she needs to resolve.
However, when she does commit herself to a goal, Ruha becomes quite tenacious.
