He is quite prideful about his work and won't accept anyone telling him that the crops taste bad. For the most part, he isn't skilled at growing crops. His carrots are always too short, his corn never grows enough shucks, and he doesn't even want to try to grow potatoes. The only fruit or vegetable that he seems to be able to grow well are strawberries, which is good because he rather likes them.
During harvesting season, the whole clan is overrun with strawberries. Sometimes Ith is given up to three baskets a day to work with. Rune, of course, eats his fair share of them. However this does not prevent other dragons from getting "Berry Fever"- as they call it- a condition in which one becomes so exhausted of eating strawberries that they refuse to eat or even become physically sick.

He has so far received one complement of his work (from Dusty) which he cherishes greatly. It was a compliment about his skill in watching over his field and how he would "make a guardian mother proud".
When Rune isn't watching his crops like an overprotective parent, he can usually be found inside dancing to Chime's music. His favorite style of dance is Swing- which he oftentimes has to bribe others into dancing. His bribes are usually along the lines of "I won't make you eat as many berries during harvesting season".
