Biography

Nobody knows what she is, but she certainly isn't a dragon.

An unhappy soul, perhaps, fused to a veil of prophecy and given the barest physical form. From the second she crawled out of the miserable hole she spawned from, she's had a peculiar, yet undeniable, attachment to the clan. She made her home in a vacant nest in an inner cave. which nobody has been able to move her from since. The clan was forced to create a new nesting spot and build around her since no dragon has the courage to stand up against her in conflict. There's something horror-inspiring in the very way she moves, as if she's not walking, but oozing, and as if this plane is an obstacle to her rather than a necessity.

She abhors any and all hatchlings and will not hesitate to physically lash out at them. This hatred may stem from a distant part of a past life, though it is a subject that is unwise to broach, since it will most likely gain the asker a new set of scars. She has no sense of mercy, of pity, of humanity, and a few hatchlings had near-death encounters upon stumbling into the wrong area of the lair. Adult dragons now constantly monitor hatchlings, and she is a very real ghost story to frighten them into behaving. The adults, however, are barely safer from her than the younglings - most steer clear of her quick temper and sharp claws unless looking for prophecy or guidance.

Her answers are as cryptic as possible, yet not poetically so, and the gruff responses received often serve to confuse more than clarify. Some dragons are better connected to her than others (Simon, namely, due to past experience with otherworldly beings), though most often she allows visitors with extensive restrictions - faces covered, weapons absent, and absolutely no light dragons.

Why would she reject Light, the element that restored her to life and granted her great powers? To her, it is more of a curse than a gift - yanked from another plane and dropped in this one, deprived of all sense except sight of pure, unflitered, blinding light, she is allowed only to experience the one thing she despises most. Light permeates her every waking moment, and she is unable to escape its hated rays even for a short time. Through the currents of the endless brightness, she can sense the energies of her visitors, and her vision allows her to see the connections between all of dragonkind - a staggering, overwhelming picture best viewed one piece at a time and with great concentration.

Very much the surly priestess of the clan, she has begrudgingly been deemed a valuable asset; though frankly, she would rather not be here. She hopes, somehow, someday, to return to the oblivion from whence she came - though her deepest wish may be unfulfilled for a long time coming.
