Biography
Scrungus
The Fire from Light that burns in Ice |

B I O G R A P H Y
"You'll be coming with me, and you cannot argue it, unnamed one." he said with a sense of finality. He walked forward without looking back- absolutely confident Scrungus would follow. And he did. Long was the journey southward to Ice, made even still more harsher by his anger. However the journey was a success and he found himself in the farthest reaches of the Icelands. Adjusting had not been easy. Scrungus loved Light and it's infinite sun, the beauty in knowledge, and the smell of dust in his old books. All the tundra had to offer him was darkness in a cramped cave, and a bitter cold that poisoned every one of his senses. He never thought the cold would make it hard to see, touch, smell.... but every sense was numbed by the cruel winds. Although with time he grew used to the change. After a couple months in the clan, Alduin decreed he was to be named. That day, after the ceremony and expected festivities, he learned why he had to move. His old clan had begun downsizing and Scrungus was one of the dragon's chosen to leave. Alduin explained that he had been passing through when he met some of Scrungus' old clanmates in the market. They told him of their clan and the dragons they were trying to sell, and through their description Alduin quickly grew smitten with Scrungus. A deal had been completed between them and Scrungus was to be moved to VulonJun. "It's not all bad, you're already getting used to us here." Alduin told him in a hushed voice, picking up on Scrungus' hurt at this perceived betrayal, "You'll be free here. You're a member of our clan now, we would never abandon one of our own. You are always free to leave, if you wish" Scrungus stayed. |

"He loves his husband too much for that," Tej's eyes twinkled sadly as he spoke, "Alduin would quicker eat his own foot than betray his betrothed" Learning he was mistaken, all Scrungus could focus on is why he was brought to the clan. When he finally pulled Alduin aside and asked him, he was met with a soft laugh, "I appreciate beauty in all it's forms, physical, mental... but what I love the most is the beauty of the future." He waited a bit before tapping the side of his head and continuing, "Even with my limited vision, even not knowing anything of what is to come, when talking to your old clan I could tell you would help bring a more beautiful future to the clan." Alduin stood up and walked away, content with his answer. The younger coatl continued sitting and stared at the floor, wondering what it is he could do. He had no real job or role in his own clan, no special talents he spent his life forming. He was simply himself, a quiet, lonesome scholar who barely even read anymore. He turned his head and watched the door Alduin left from and thought about their conversation. Although it had not been said, a sentiment was hanging in the air; "Do not prove me wrong" |
