Guardian of Kings.

You enter the unassuming cave, the air musty and thick with the smell of earth, looking for shelter from the whipping desert sands. It's a lot larger than you thought... a tunnel? You think it's probably not the greatest idea, but you head out anyways, your trusty lantern lighting your path. After some time with only the light of your lantern to keep you company, the walls suddenly become more and more ornate as you descend deeper into the winding darkness. It takes only a few moments until the passage suddenly widens, and you find yourself in a large cavern facing ornate stone doors. Sand is dripping through cracks in the ceiling, and strange torches light the room. As you approach the doors, your curiosity getting the better of you, you feel a slight breeze tickle the back of your neck. You whip around and find yourself face to face with a large, imposing creature with a steely gaze. You scramble in a panic, fleeing back to the tunnel and dropping your lantern in the process... and it just watches, eyes never blinking.
