KUOLONLAULU
|| the diviner ||
quiet | kind | gloomy | pacifist. kind of.

firemid.png
no6tMs0.png "As if I were never a threat, as if I couldn’t have done anything..."
An ability to see and predict the future is something many wishes – but the ones with the skill despise it. Kuolonlaulu is no different.
The pearlcatcher left her first clan due the huge pressure put on her shoulders by her husband, the leader of the clan. Everyone demanded to know the every single detail of their future put on an excuse of how it would be some helpful knowledge for them! But oh, no, the future in her eyes filled with such horrible fates was something Kuolonlaulu preferred to keep only as her knowledge.
But the others’ disappointment weighed her down, and in the end, the diviner was left as an outcast with her personal bodyguard, TUONENLINTU.
The night they sneaked out of the clan, a conversation between the leader and some of his commanders alerted her. A surprise attack? To a clan that resided in the Southern Icefields? They hadn’t intended to eavesdrop, but there they were – and left Kuolonlaulu with the biggest decision of her life.

Instead of hiding the truth forever, she and Tuonenlintu left their own clan and started their bigger journey all the way to the Ice domain. To give the clan a fair warning they would be destroyed, that someone wanted to wipe them out.
The suspicions towards them presented themselves as wary behaviour, every single of their movements were under the sharp gazes, but in the end Kuolonlaulu got her message to the empress herself.
The dynasty offered them a safe place to stay as a thank you for the information, with one heavy condition to fill.

"...As if I couldn’t have killed the king "

Kuolonlaulu’s days have turned into a happier ones, as nobody puts any sort of a pressure on her and her abilities – they have assisted her to finally come out of her shell.
At the start, she was known to be so quiet many had never heard her speak or if they had been there to witness this miracle, her voice so silent it was another task to actually hear what she attempted to tell. Doesn’t mean she’s much louder nowadays either, but at least she has found a little more social side of herself, a side she forgot so long ago.
The pearlcatcher radiates kindness to every single living being and prefers to think herself as a pacifist nature. Tuonenlintu, on the other hand, is a totally different concept but Kuolonlaulu herself would never touch anyone with intentions to harm! If there’s a need, for whatever heavy reason she trusts her guardian to take care of it instead of doing it herself.

In the end, the diviner has quite gloomy nature under all the friendliness she gives out – being able to know the future weights heavy in her heart, as she’d much rather forget everything she sees in her dreams. A responsibility she never wished to have on her shoulders, but the future haunts her awake and asleep, there’s no escape from it.

If something positive, at least she can put her skills on a good use by assisting the dynasty. She can warn them from incoming threats, or perhaps something that happens inside the dynasty. Though the visions are vague, they have proven themselves useful in many occasions she has spoken of them with the higher ups.
Many respects her from the skill she has, perhaps someone even fears her – or if not her, then the grumpy guardian that never dares to leave her side.
