Biography

Gambit

tumblr_oi1u7buAsw1qlk3jzo7_r2_500.jpg

If you're looking for someone who would buy your sob story, sorry, wrong guy.

Gambit's appearence in the clan was a bit more...unorthodox than most. Fleeing debtors from the Hewn City, he was taken in by a very interested Phan, whom immediately presented him to her very pleased mother. FoulPlay was intrigued by how a young dragon like him could've racked up so much debt over such a short period of time, but keeps her thoughts to herself and settled his debt in private for him. Gambit continued to stay behind, however, greatly invested in the Nocturne's ability to trade up just about anything. While people assume Gambit should've been much more subdued after his run-in with the debtors, it is safe to assume the absolute opposite- foul-mouthed and brutal, Gambit continues to demand his own way in things and pretends that all his misfortunes were pre-planned.

He came to Camelcase with his back legs missing, assumed to have been hocked off by his debtors when cornered. Gambit states he was born without them but it's Camelcase, nobody actually bought that argument. Abyss lets him get around on a wheelchair like Shrouded does, and nobody bothers raising any questions. While not loafing around trying to steal from FoulPlay and escape the labyrinth of Camelcase, Gambit occasionally climbs into the Poliwags' fountain to swim in it- the Poliwags' territorial biting don't affect him as he has no back legs to nip at. He's also fond of singing to the Poliwags, as if they would be enthralled by his singing. While his singing is pleasant, the Poliwags are displeased and want him to take his business elsewhere.

In private, Gambit is a spiteful and awkward soul that badly craves to be understood. Perhaps, eventually, he would finally be able to embrace his legacy of being the mercenery-scholars his parents were known for...or finally discover that he has been Shadetouched this whole time, which was why FoulPlay was this interested in him. He doesn't see himself as attractive, in line due to his low self-confidence, but many of the dragons in Camelcase would beg to differ.

When the Rogue Apparel was discovered, he quickly raided the wardrobes and found himself a nice, short cape to put on. It doesn't interfere with his wheelchair as much, and it apparently makes him feel important. The accompanying pants, however...while he does fit in them, the dragons laugh at how silly a dragon without legs is putting on those. He's officially transitioned, and he doesn't care how people see him now that he feels better about himself- but it also makes his tight pants even more ridiculous, much to his chagrin.

He reigns now as king of the Centiforge, having escaped calcification to wind up where he currently is with his companion Mhairi. Together, they harass even more people and gain intelligence that way.

'thanks mum and dads this is all your fault'

Windcarve Fugitive

Gambit's companion, a Windcarve Fugitive that has also been ousted from his pack due to poor socialising skills and a foul mouth. With Gambit's incredible spending habits, Xun (训, discipline) is the one to ground him and remind his companion that sometimes one just has to take it easy. Xun is actually a skilled spearman, often the one to protect Gambit against aggression and was the one that managed to convince Gambit to try and accept help- but when asked why he had refused to partake in any Harpy rituals, the Fugitive goes deathly silent and refuses to elaborate.

Xun shares great animosity with Tectus's Corven, Ven, and they seem to share a common history. When asked, Xun refuses to elaborate and usually pretends that Ven doesn't exist.
