Biography

"Nice work you did--you're gonna go far, kid!"

"Show me how to lie, you're getting better all the time
And turning all against the one is an art that's hard to teach
Another clever word sets off an unsuspecting herd
And as you step back into line, a mob jumps to their feet..."

-"You're Gonna Go Far, Kid," The Offspring

Sol was raised by gentle dragons with gentle voices and gentle mannerisms. She was taught to be kind to others, treat them how she would like to be treated. She was taught kindness, and meekness, and gentleness above all.

Gentleness didn't save them from being conquered.

Another clan swooped in, a clan of slave traders. They captured the peaceful clan dwellers, including Sol, and dragged them off to their underground operation. Sol was chained to a wall, along with all her family and friends. The only life she'd ever known laid shattered before her. Many, so many of the others simply bowed their heads in defeat, accepting their fate. It sickened Sol down to her core. She watched as her fellow clanmates were beaten and broken before her, sold off to the highest bidder. Thrown to the gods in an attempt to make quick gold. And she couldn't stand it.

So she didn't.

Her mother was next. As the slavers took the keys and readied her mother for the black market, Sol snapped. If you ask her what happened, she couldn't tell you. All she saw was the color red, and when the rage subsided, she was surrounded by the broken, bloody bodies of her captors. The gruesome display before her awoke something deep within her, and she growled lowly as she picked up the keys from the deceased jailer.

She freed her family. Her friends. Anyone who was left standing and alive. And any who crossed her path, any who tried to stop her? They wound up like the others, falling horrifically to Sol's teeth and claws, until finally, there were none left to oppose the imperial. She led what was left of her clan to safety.

But then they turned on her.

She was scolded, scorned for her behavior. Several of the dragons refused to look at her, refused to make eye contact with the beast. Sol could feel her rage boiling beneath her scales, just itching to be released. Liars, all of them! What good was peace if it only lead to their demise? What good was being kind if it only lead to their downfall? Her voice was a shrill screech as she shouted her accusations. The others began to slowly back away, fearful of what she might do. Once she realized they no longer saw her as one of them, that she was no longer welcome, she left. Her large wings took her to the skies, and she headed out. What direction, she didn't know. She didn't really care either. She just wanted to be gone

Those that cross Sol these days claim they have never met a more dangerous, a more savage, a more bloodthirsty dragon. Peace was an illusion. Kindness was a lie. Sol had branded her previous clan as cowards, too fearful to defend themselves from the smallest threat. Power and strength were the only things that could take a dragon anywhere, so she made sure to accumulate plenty of it. Fear would never take hold of her heart again, not if she could help it.

She'd been lied to. And she intended to never allow that to happen again.
