Aki [img]310x2[/img] A lone dragon stumbles through the Lightning territory, her fur was covered in layers of dirt and rib bones visible. This wasn't all she had to worry about as she tried so desperately to cling to what little life she had left. But her fate was sealed. She finally collapsed onto the dusty ground; her eyes slipped, a single exhale of air left her partly opened mouth. Silence took over. The vultures circled their new target with cheerful calls ringing out to one another. Before they could begin their feast, a new shadow emerged. A pear catcher with glowing blue claws and unnatural antlers that sat proudly on top her head. A look of horror worked its way onto her face... Fur and scales clutching at the skeleton of an unknown dragon. If this would have been the WasteLands it might have been less horrific. But upon closer examination a note was found. "Dearest Sheperds, Please take me into your clan for I have traveled far and wide in search for the perfect place to call home. My family in the Wind territory would be so pleased to hear I finally found a place to call my own. I have gone from territory to territory trying out clan after clan... and when I happened to hear about your small group I felt such a strong desire to find you all. The reason is because I believe so strongly in your ideas. No dragon should feel as though they have been tossed aside..." The note stopped, mostly because the rot finally reached the paper and ink was smudged and impossible to read. The lone dragon lowered her head frowning down at the soul she wasn't able to reach in time. She blamed herself, her clan was difficult to find... It was why she went out so much to make sure the lost souls that did wander into sight would be spared the fate of the corpse before her. Raising her head her muzzle pointed upwards as she let out a loud mournful cry her robotic body shivering slightly as she kept letting cry after cry slip past the few tears that rolled down her cheeks. She did not know this dragon, she didn't need to. And lowering her head again she slipped a wing under the light and fragile body bringing it to the home she rightfully deserved... All the clan members gathered together to mourn the loss of someone, every last one agreeing that they never needed to meet her in order to feel the sorrow they did in that moment. Her body was burnt and turned into a fine ash buried near the entrance of the clan. And after a few days, a special seafoam glass statue was placed over her early grave showing a welcoming face and the symbol of the clan etched into the stand. The statue was not only a reminder of the dragon, but it was a beacon for other dragons so no one would suffer a similar fate. Offerings are often left at the statues base from friendly clans, and oddly enough a Salve Kamaitachi, who the clan named Shino, guards the statue cleaning it to the best of her abilities. She brings the offerings inside and shields the small garden that managed to bloom before the statue from harsh storms. Shino will forever guard the friend she may still be able to see. And the clan of Shepherds will always show her how much they have grown. |
