Biography
CARA
Healer | Caretaker
Healer | Caretaker
|
Once a healer, always a healer. Even now, those in Olympuswatch have no idea what keeps Cara close to Astarot. By all appearances, they should be polar opposites--and not in a charming "opposites attract" way, but in a way that should have one of them sent off to the Tidelord by now. But Cara's heart is stronger than the next three dragons by far, and she stays by her ruthless mate, quiet and serene, tending to his wounds and those of any around. In many ways, not only is the the guiding healer for those who fight in the arenas, but she has become a bit of a psychologist and counselor as well. The broken-hearted, the mateless, the young and the weary--all have found calm and solace under her wing. Some have whispered that she must be more than just dragoness--something above and beyond the rest--but Cara only laughs and shakes her head. Those who have been on Olympuswatch for some time remember Cara's parents, from before they joined the Tidelord in the unending battle above. Perhaps it was something of her father Ruadhan's fiery spirit that allowed her to stay, and the more steady nature of her mother Nyx that gave her the patience to endure. It was said that both parents knew the hearts and minds of other quite well, so perhaps it was meet that she would find herself as she did. When the twins came, one streaked head to toe in crimson red and the other as quiet and serious as the grave, it was no one's surprise that they fought in the coliseum matches before too finding themselves at the altar to the Tidelord. Cara wept not for her hatchlings. She had seen that coming from the moment she bore them. She had no doubt that many of her hatchlings would be sent to serve the gods. Neither she nor Astarot had any of the most coveted patterns to their hides, and Mere's lair was not unending. They kept those they could, and allowed the rest to find their own paths through Sornieth. And if that led many of them back to the altars of the gods...well, there was nothing she could do about that, but pray to Tidelord that even if her children were not fighting at his side, perhaps he could keep a weather eye out for them. Now most of her time is devoted to caring for those around her, rather than any hatchlings of her own. Her mate is busy with his tasks alongside Mere, and she begrudges him not the time spent away from the lair. They each have their strengths. He is best suited out in the world, using his silver tongue to ensnare those he wishes. She is best suited here, among the others. |
Love is an endless mystery, for it has nothing else to explain it.
