Basilisk was a strict but warm-hearted light flight general, whom dedicated his life to war against the shade and the plague bringer. An esteemed and decorated young general, Basilisk was fondly admired and respected by his peers. Even after passing maturity however, he refused to take on a mate. Much to his mother's disappointment, he insisted that a family would only get in the way of duty. Duty always came first to Basilisk. Always.

During the height of his career, a young and vehement Pearlcatcher, Vertigo was enlisted onto his squadron. An intense and merciless young dragon, it quickly became obvious that he was one of the best among them except for a few obvious flaws. He was aggressive and violent beyond capacity, he held rage for his enemies like no other dragon, a killing machine. Despite this, he was a very loyal soldier, loyal to Basilisk to almost a fault.

The imperial took it upon himself to take Vertigo under his wing. Not to further his fighting skills, but to teach him compassion, and mercy. Basilisk showed Vertigo nothing but kindness, and to his surprise, Vertigo responded quickly and passionately. He was not evil, not cruel but lonely, and broken. He grew attached to Basilisk, more so than he was attached to his duty. While Basilisk valued his cadet immensely, he just did not feel the same.

After Basilisk rejected him, as politely as he possibly could, he was unsurprised that Vertigo again became violent, aggressive. It was not soon after that Vertigo cornered him in his quarters, tears in his eyes and held his own claws to his throat. Duty demanded that he exile Vertigo, attacking a superior officer was an offence punishable by death.

Basilisk was never the same afterward. He lost his best solider, and right-hand man. Years past, only a few but two uneventful painful years passed, and with each day that passed life, seemed more pointless duty seemed obsolete. And Basilisk would pay for it. Unmotivated and inattentive, Basilisk had his wings shredded in battle by a vicious wild claw. Immobilized and now useless in battle, he left the light flight decidedly forever to refind his passion in life

Next up, Basilisk, the retired general with a tragic backstory! His outfit is a delight to behold. His genes are quite spectacular, and I reckon he shines despite his lack of a primary - perhaps to do with his Gold Glimmer tert? The way the regal scale items mix so well with the gold filigree armor is beautiful. One detail I especially liked was the Solar Bades - they go well with how his wings were shredded! And his lore was so well written too - truly tragic indeed.
