Maz is a young remnant created from the experience of a cautious hatchling who was forced into the caverns on a dare from his playmates. True to his creation, Maz is considered a "worrywart" by his best friend, Sorbet, though the other remnants have an appreciation for his worrisome tendencies as it keeps Sorbet out of trouble.

In his spare time, the tundra loves to read and is perfectly happy with just his books and no one else, though he doesn't mind a bit of socialization. If he's around dragons for too long, he'll become drained and shut down, wanting to remove himself from the situation and just go back to his books. The only dragon he is fine with during his low-energy times is Sorbet, who would take the time to read adventure books with him before going out to reenact the scenes once Maz has recharged. Another figure in Maz's life is a pen pal of his that loves to talk about thoughts on books and writings with him. Although he isn't quite sure who his pen pal is, Maz still thinks of them as an older sibling due to their similar interests and personality. He is currently in search of the perfect book that would help his pen pal find some happiness, as it was something they have said to have never experienced before. |

| Despite Maz's cautious instinct, underneath the surface lies a morbid curiosity for the other side. Despite the monsters that inhabit the darker parts of the caverns, for some reason, the tundra has never felt unsafe when walking along its border. Slowly, he has begun to work up the nerve to cross, as he feels that there is someone on the other side waiting for him - perhaps someone he's already familiar with. |
