DOCTOR STORM
The Mad Mechanic

Only one word can be used to describe Storm - hectic.

He flits about his lab so quickly the others fear to enter. Some worry about the safety of the inventions he's working on in there; others worry about what would happen if the massive Spiral was to charge into them without even noticing they were there, as he jumps from one area to the next in a fraction of a second without ever looking where he's going.

That isn't to say the others don't respect him - they genuinely believe he's one of the best scientists in Sornieth. They just simply wish to respect him from a safe distance, where they don't need to fear for their lives.

Storm was hired by the Clan Matriarch, Nassandra, during one of her visits to the Tempest Spire, where he had been working for a number of years under many different Clans and their leaders, constantly being fired by each leader after one of his bursts of energy resulted in an injury to another clan member.

Though Nassandra had received warnings from his previous clan about his apparent insanity, she saw huge potential in him and his inventions, and truly believed he would be a great aid in her fight against The Shade (which she still believes from the stories of old is an ever-lurking threat), regardless of other clans insisting that he has never completed a successful invention due to his lack of focus.

Since becoming part of the clan, Storm has doubled his efforts to create new, useful inventions, wanting to prove to Nassandra and the rest of the clan that he isn't as useless as others regard him. Despite never having finished any single project prior to joining the clan (previously only doodling vague blueprints, and half-finishing the work on each of these), he has successfully pushed the boundaries of science further than many other clans even in The Shifting Expanse ever thought possible, creating two robotic dragons, complete with Artificial Intelligence - ALPHA and EPSILON. These two robots have been instrumental in building the strength of the clan, able to strike down any foe which stands in their path. Their creation has earned him a lot of respect from the rest of their clan, who rely on the robots to keep sentry whilst they sleep.

This respect is a new-found concept for Storm, who had went through his life up until that point being shunned by others on a regular basis, labelled as insane and never finding anywhere to truly call home. It has caused him to calm down significantly - rather than constantly jumping from one project to the next, he can now focus more on one project at a time. He now also finds the time to talk to other clan members, telling them of his inventions as he works on them, rather than working in his lab alone with no other dragon contact. For him, life has never been better. And the others love having him around - as long as it's outside of his lab, rather than inside where safety is still an ever-present issue.

The lab itself is a cause of irritation within the clan at times, however. Despite the entire clan working hard to earn their place at the Pillar of the World, expanding their clan to be big enough to fit one hundred Dragons, Storm's lab in fact takes up around eighty percent of the space, with the rest of the Clan having to huddle together in small cramped spaces to sleep. Although Storm insists he needs all of that space, the rest of the clan constantly appeals to Nassandra to make him reduce it - although this is to no avail as Nassandraseems to prioritise Storm's needs as an inventor above all else.
