Lycoris Botanist "QUOTE QUOTE QUOTE" Lycoris is a sociable and well-meaning dragon who has issues with his identity and his past, both of which seem elusive to him because of his status as an orphan. He would do well in a social positions, particularly one that would require a lot of flattery, imitation, or face-work, such as negotiations or diplomacy. His real parents do not know his whereabouts- one of them does not even know of his existence- just as he does not know who they are, if they are even alive. Still, he carries a lot of their nature with him, as both of them were talented and well-renowned scouts and spies where they hail from. His likeness to them is more acute than even he would likely believe. Besides his social talents, Lycoris has also picked up a fondness for herbology and botany. Perhaps it is because of his name? He loves to document the locations and effects of different Flora when used for medicinal, alchemical, or other miscellaneous purposes, and keeps a record of this manually. He has amassed a small collection of journals detailing the plants he has come across in his travels, and he often tends to several projects in his spare time.

Lycoris has been away from home for a long time.

He was abandoned as an egg- Well, he assumes he was abandoned as an egg, mostly because that’s what he was told. A solitary lightning egg on the border of the shifting expanse, unattended, prone to rot where it was left. No nesting grounds. No signs of attendance. You were lucky to be found when you were, his old warden had chided, as if he had chosen this fate. Egg like yours is likely to get picked up by the beastclans.

He had heard stories of other children abandoned for whatever reason. A lot had trinkets. Things to remember their clans by. He had nothing, not even a name. Well, probably. He never asked why ‘Lycoris’ was what people called him. Didn’t matter much. There were worse names out there.

Throughout his life, Lycoris has learned from imitation. Imitating actions to learn skills, impersonating people to make friends, mimicking reactions to gain understanding. Should have been a Nocturne, with mimicry like that. Maybe he did have Nocturne blood in him. Maybe this was his parents gift to him. He doesn’t know. He only knows what it’s like to learn vicariously through others, and the mask he has made is very convincing.

Still, Lycoris holds his head up. He maintains a sort of amicability and confidence despite himself, presenting to the world a face he would very much like for them to see. And if, beneath the facade, he was a man without identity?

Well. Perhaps no one would ever need to find out.
