The Gentleman

Ivanov is known among his clanmates as the dapper gentleman, never seen without his black suit. Hatched into an arcane clan, he was the son of a male Coatl and female Imperial. From a young age, Ivanov was constantly bullied and harassed by his siblings. He nearly tried to drown himself when he was still a hatchling, and as a result developed an insane fear of water. When his parents discovered him attempting suicide, they decided to send Ivanov away to a different clan, one where he could be accepted for the way he was. Ivanov agreed, knowing that in his new clan no dragon would ever know that he was a runt. So, one day, Ivanov got up and left, fully aware that he would likely never see his family again. At one point during his journey, Ivanov was attacked by a group of plague Mirrors. As Ivanov feebly tried to fight back, he received a gruesome gash down his left flank, which eventually scarred and now leaves his left side weak and not quite the same as before. Luckily, his famous suit covers it up. The suit was a gift from his first mate, Eilen, who immediately struck a fancy with him when they met. Ivanov was saved from those Mirrors by Eilen and other members of her clan. Ivanov still considers himself forever indebted to them, but was distraught to learn they were water dragons. Reluctantly, he explained his fear of water to them, but nevertheless they insisted he join, and Eilen helped him overcome his fear. Ivanov now lives happily, and although his relationship with Eilen didn't work out, he still enjoys hunting with his son Sheldon every day, enjoying life and water.
