Have you ever wondered what it might be like, to be a guardian's charge? Ikano doesn't need to wonder. He knows. He knows all too well, and he once dreaded every waking hour. Being a charge is, unfortunately, suffocating, and it greatly hindered Ikano's ability to work as he pleased, his work with live wires and various experiments being the most horrifying thing for the guardian, and while they did pull him out of the way of a rather nasty, unexpected explosion one time, their other 'protective' maneuvers were entirely unnecessary, as it seemed they forgot just who he was, and how capable he was of withstanding and even conducting the electrical expulsions. Ikano, often being ripped away from a particularly hairy operation with little warning, thus, in turn, causing the explosions, was more than fed up with being a charge. He crafted mechanical unit to restrain the guardian when he was working on what they deemed 'too dangerous', though they broke the unit almost immediately, once again ripping him away from the crackling electricity, his fingers still holding the ends of the wires he needed to connect, and, what else but another electrical explosion, the wires connecting in ways not meant to be connected, Ikano's frustration with his well-meaning protector finally reaching a peak. He went where they could not follow, into the tunnels below his lab, twisting and turning in ways only a spiral could navigate, uttering curses and raging to himself the entire way down, their guardian's somewhat panicked calls to him far from his concern. He stayed in the darkness for a long, long time, silent, seething, electricity rippling across his scales. Then, the idea came. He would run. Ikano would leave. He would leave the guardian behind and hopefully, never see them again. He turned his gaze to the other tunnels, choosing his exit carefully, winding his way through and through, eventually escaping out into the storm, the thunder covering any sound he might have made while escaping, the taste of freedom something so sweet, so pure... He'd almost forgotten how it felt, to be his own person. To not be directly associated with another, or referred to as "the one with the guardian." Oh how sweet it was, to be free, even if he knew they'd be looking for him soon enough.
