Genone

An egg rolled along the Carrion Canyon. It gave off small sparks on every bump. It had been rolling since it was laid, and was about to hatch. It neared the light border when the shell started to crack. At the exact point of the border, it crashed into a light egg and the two hatchlings ended in a heap.

As hatchings are very sensitive to the elements and magic, this collision made a special bond between them. Not one of love, at least not in the beginning, but one of thoughts and leaked elemental magic. They were able to sense where each other were and their mood. They were both able to use light and lightning magic, but as primary and secondary magics. This ability would fade after some years, but they would always be able to do a little of their secondary magic. Over time their sense of the other's mood would fade as well, but by then they would always know the other's mood anyway because they had spent so much time together.
