Frequently Asked Questions
I don't honestly expect people to delve through these before interacting with me, so read if you want and know that I won't be offended if you don't.

Q: Can I buy [INSERT DRAGON NAME HERE]?

A) If I'm interested in selling a dragon, then the description of the tab they're in will likely say it. Otherwise, they're almost definitely not for sale. Since most of these questions specifically apply to my 'Oldies' tab, none of them are for sale (they're the original 25 dragons I had back in 2013). If you'd lose sleep by not asking about a dragon in one of these non-sale tabs then go for it, but expect a polite "no".

Q: I want to buy [INSERT DRAGON NAME HERE], but lack the funds right now. Can you put them on hold for me?

A) Sure! Of course, within reason - I'm not going to put a dragon on hold for a month, but a few days or even a week shouldn't be much of a problem.

Q: Do you exalt dragons?

A) I do.

Q: You bought my dragon! Can you not exalt it?

A) If you send me a message like this or comment it on my user page, then I'll likely send you the following message:

This is a prewritten message.

If you’re receiving this message, I’ve likely purchased a dragon of yours as fodder and you’ve indicated something to me that suggests you may not want them exalted. I mass-buy hatchlings and adult fodder to resell, so the dragon in question will not be finding a permanent home with me and will likely end up exalted by someone else. If you object to this, you can purchase back the dragon in question for [INSERT AMOUNT HERE]g/kt. Otherwise, I'll do whatever I intended to do with it, which may include exalting or reselling it. Please make a decision quickly, and if I don't hear back from you in a reasonable amount of time then I cannot guarantee I'll still have the dragon when you respond. Please understand that when you sell a dragon to me, it's no longer your dragon, and I’m under no obligation to not resell or exalt it. Thank you, and please respond with haste if you intend to purchase the dragon in question.

Q: You bought my dragon! Are you going to keep it?

A) It depends. The best way to tell is to check what tab they're in. "The New Crew"? Almost definitely staying! "Sales"? Well... no, probably not. I do buy dragons to resell, so don't be surprised if the dragon is listed on the AH shortly after I buy it.

Q: Do you accept friend requests?

A) If I know you from somewhere, then sure! I don't, however, accept random friend requests.

Q: Can I comment on your profile?

A) Sure, within reason. I mean, I can't really stop you regardless, but if I buy a dragon for fodder price and get a comment like:

Omg! Tysm for buying one of my babies! Glad to see them go to a good home :)

I'll probably delete it. It feels weird being thanked for acting purely out of self interest, and the language in a lot of those sorts of comments feels deliberate in trying to make the buyer feel guilty about potentially exalting/reselling the dragon despite the veneer of friendliness. Like, someone using the phrasing of "my dragon" when describing a dragon they sold comes across as them feeling like they have some sort of control of it whilst also cashing in on it, which isn't how that works.

Otherwise, go for it! Was one of my dragons on the front page? You bought one of my dragons and want to let me know your plans for them? One of my dragons is wearing a fancy hat and you think it looks nice? I welcome all that sort of stuff.

Q: What about messages?

A) Sure! I'm always down to chat about whatever.

Q: What do you do on Flight Rising?

A) I sell adult fodder (hence the ~400 hatchlings I probably have in my Hibernal Den), flip stuff on the AH, do a bit of Coliseum grinding, and lurk on the forums.

Q: Why are both of your progens named Jim?

A) It was an accident back when I was naming my progens, and why change it at this point?

Wall of updates

UPDATE AS OF 2/25/2024
I'm still around. I login maybe once a month or so. It's fun seeing the new breeds and features, but still unsure if/when I'll make this a habit again.

UPDATE AS OF 1/31/2023
Taking a break from FR, apologies if you message and it takes a while for me to respond

UPDATE AS OF 4/14/22

Just in case my January update is a bit misleading, let me clarify that my 2013 oldies aren't for sale - when I came back I wasn't sure whether or not I'd stick around, but, since I have, they're not going anywhere. If you don't see this and ask about them then that's okay, I'll just politely tell you no. Just wanted to put that out there somewhere.

UPDATE AS OF 2/20/22

Should probably toss an update up here to say that I'm fully back (and have been since my last update).

UPDATE AS OF 1/16/22

Oh dear, six years. Apologies to anyone who messaged me or expressed interest in any of my dragons, at the very least I'm not looking to move any until I get my bearings. Also, what the heck, I have 245 forum posts?!? Younger me had too much time.

UPDATE AS OF 6/16/16

Wow, two years later, and I suddenly remember FR. Cool.

UPDATE AS OF 1/16/14

Not on hiatus anymore, I think.

UPDATE AS OF 11/11/13

On hiatus.

Now, back to talking about Onyx
