Biography
Aeolus
The Ambassador
The Ambassador
|
As much as he hated comparing himself to others, Aeolus couldn't help but feel incredibly inferior to the strong and beautiful Aurai, who was also known as his slightly older twin sister. He had hated how he wasn't born with the same crystal gene as Aurai, and absolutely despised how he didn't seem to shine like she did. He also didn't like how he had been born with weaker muscles and a complete lack of strength. It just wasn't fair. What was even worse was that his sister already knew about his inferiority complex. Being the younger of the duo, Aeolus had been forced into letting out what had been bothering him for so long. Aurai had been shocked, to say the least, but apologetic nonetheless. Aeolus had shaken his head. It wasn't her fault that he had been born this way. "Are you angry?" she had asked him tentatively, as though she feared what his answer would be. "Of course not!" Aeolus quickly assured her. "You've done nothing wrong! I'm only angry at myself for not being strong enough to help you more." Still, despite how sorry his sister felt, Aeolus could not repress the need to prove himself to his family. So he decided to leave his clan, planning on traveling around as an ambassador for the Nature flight, with the goal of befriending and establishing friendly relations with as many clans from other flights as possible. He figured that with his skills in magic, he would be able to gain the trust of other dragons with ease. While he did not possess the same amount of strength or energy as the his older twin sister, Aeolus had no difficulty mastering the mystic art of magic as an alternative. Many dragons thought that he had chosen to study magic because he was naturally gifted in its ways, or because Aeolus somehow had a surreal affinity for the unnatural. It was none of those. The real reason why he had stuck to magic rather than physical combat was because it was a bit too easy to distract other dragons from his supposed ugliness with the beauty of his magical creations. The night that he left, Aeolus hadn't gotten very far from the clan when he heard another dragon calling his name. To his surprise, he turned around to find Aurai behind him, panting. "Look," she started between heaving breaths, "I know that this is something you felt compelled to do, and I know that you're planning on going this alone— And by no means am I calling you weak! Not at all! But—" "You want to protect me?" Aurai nodded hesitantly, but Aeolus wasn't hurt by her words at all. Instead, he was rather amused, and a bit thankful. It would be nice to have company on his journey, and who better to accompany him than his sister? "Well, come on then!" Aeolus laughed, beckoning for his sister to hurry up. "What are you waiting for?" |
